Something I'm not sure anyone's mentioned but we brought our first two subs on and they didn't change anything tactical and neither of them defensive in the slightest so they could see we weren't intent on seeing the game out, then five minutes later Moyes brought on his first two subs changed everything and we had nothing to counter it.
Did Moyes wait to see what we did or did he just see what we did and realised it gave him options?
I'm feeling worse now than I did after the game.

Think moyes just brought his players on because not much else was happening and gave them a run out. Doubt in his wildest dreams he would've thought he could get a point.

Snodgrass was the only tactical change as it was 3-2 at that point and he obviously smelt blood.

How regularly do we do what? We certainly haven't thrown away a 3 goal lead in a long time and in fact I can't remember the last time we threw a 2 goal lead. I think it's the first time under Jose we've been more than a goal up and not gone on to win.
not often a 3 goal lead but we have a flair from grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory. Today I felt exactly like I did when Seb Larrson hit the winner for Birmingham years ago. Or Bent's missed header. Or the time at Burnley (I think) when we had 25 shots or so and couldnt get the winner. Still not as bad as Gomes at Stoke, I guess.

I don't think Sannhez and Sissoko defended well for the 1st goal. The own goal was avoidable. He struggled against Antonio and he had a nervous start the game in particular. I never felt comfortable when they were in the attack and it was over his side.
Toby might not quite be at the level he was a couple of years ago, but I thought he was ok today.

I dunno. The more I think about it, the more I see it as a total freak result. They were ridiculously lucky to have come away with a point. We can play the blame game all we want, and there are certainly a lot of dumb mistakes toward the end, but this game was a akin to winning the lottery for Spammers. It is not like they were the better team or were unlucky. We had them, where we wanted them, until the 81st min, when Sissoko makes a dumb foul. And then he and Sanchez both forget to mark the defender who scores from the free kick.

the boys need to put it behind them and see it for what it is.

we have played badly once in the league this season. Our first game. And we lost. We should have won at home against Barcodes and Spammers but both got away with late and lucky snatch and grabs.

Everyone of the coaches and players can’t afford to have a pity party. Shake it off. Learn from it.

I will be shocked if a result like this or Barcodes happens again this season. Yes, I am being way too optimistic... but I’d rather get our bad luck games outta the way early. we now have three must win PL games coming up before Citeh. We need to walk away with a max 9 points from them.

Frustrating result that feels like a defeat. This game should have well and truly been over

Sanchez and Aurier regardless of how well they play are always prone to an error , and they are usually costly errors . This is the reason we now have Doherty and also why dier is first choice above Sanchez

To many costly mistakes

Aurier didn’t make an error today?

This isn't a freak result because this type of performance is always within our grasp, this will happen again and again and our home form is a complete joke.

I think he gave away the free kick in a dangerous area which was needless really. West Ham were only going to score through a free kick there, its our major weakness. I’m hoping the Welsh kid will help with that, you need a big lump willing to take a kick in the head in those situations if you can’t work out how to defend more intelligently.

I listened to the game on the radio and after the 3rd Spam goal went in, decided to go for a walk and forget about things.

Watching the highlights this morning I thought the WH players' reaction after their first goal was interesting. Basically they just jogged back to the centre circle. No one rushed to grab the ball and clearly they didn't think they were going to get anything from the game.

Their second goal was lucky and there wasn't too much Sanchez could have done about that.

And of course their third goal was a bit of a fluke too; how many times does a player hit a last ditch effort, whilst being closed down, and score?

We obviously have to make improvements, but in the cold light of day I think it was just one of those matches.

We're only a point off Top4 and if we put a run together we've still got an outside chance of a title push.

So it's all to play for.

This game woke me up middle of the night, it was worse than the freddie kruger nightmares i used to get as a kid.

I mean, its just a game, played by a bunch of multi millionaires, it shouldnt be having this sort of effect. I thought i forgot about this game quite quickly aswell, obviously not.

Usually i can sleep off bad results. Woke up feeling the same low as the CL final and the Munich thrashing.. that's how depressive it feels

We lost because of our mentality, and being cute how to see the game out.
Conceding fouls in stupid areas out wide against a tall team that are looking to get one.
Being smart that the last kick of the game, keeping possession and trying to counter is not needed, so Winks just needed to route one that clearance into West Ham’s half for a throw or certainly not what he did.

Kill the game off by scoring more yes, but when it goes 3-1, 3-2, the quarter back through balls, or quick counters should have stopped, and game management of seeing the game out was needed, where we slowed the play down and kept the ball even if we kept passing backwards and let West Ham chase us. Too many times we conceded possession because we wanted that quick counter.

Of course, very frustrated at the result, but I still have confidence with what I’ve seen that we have the quality to be up there or there abouts

hence the phrase “such shit”. Do I really need to list the times that we’ve snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in the most ludicrous and embarrassing way? Christ we’ve even given a word to say when we have one of our moments.

It wasn't even a foul.
