Always loved 14... a shirt usually worn by magical players... Ginola...Modric...
Johann Cruyff's name might also ring a bell. He's still my favourite player, along with Hod, after all the years I've been watching the game. Cruyff is the reason why Monsieur Ginola chose to wear 14.

Cruyff is one of the best footballers of all time, Guti also wore 14, also a very good (and possibly underrated) player.

Will be interesting to see if he ends up being a better CB than Skriniar. Not knocking the latter, as he is clearly very talented. Just wonder if Rodon's ceiling might end up being higher. I guess only time will tell. But given that he is 22, is the starting CB for Wales, has played a ton of Championship games, he is more-than-ready to hit the ground running.

Toby, Dav, Dier, Japhet, and Rodon. Not too shabby, I'd say.

This has been the best window I can recall. We can split hairs over whether Rodon or Skriniar is the better CB in the long-term. But all things consider, it feels like we have upgrade the squad massively.

I do feel a little bit for Japhet. As this should have been his opportunity. Perhaps Jose isn't 100% confident with him yet. Also might be that they intend to have him around the squad like Jack Clark, up thru to January, and then loan them both out to get game time.

Japhet will stay. You can't underestimate the importance of a player who can capably play LB, CB and RB. Plus he's still very young, so plenty of time for him to develop. Not to mention that if we're playing 3 ATB it always helps to be well stocked on CB's.

His meant to have pace, good on the ball and a strong in the air personally think he could be by far the better signing

I had actually quietly hoped Bale would have gone for 14 for this very reason. 9 will be fine so long as he bags a few!

Best of luck to #Rodon14 in any case!

I don't know if we've ever had 3 at same time? Certainly not modern day.
We had Digger and Bale towards end of the Noughties, but not 3
Simon Davies? Pretty sure he never crossed paths with Bale, Gunter definitely did though.

Enjoying all the Spurs fans on here and social media pretending to have heard of Joe Rodon before last week.

Anyway, fuck it, absolutely buzzing to have signed the new Beckenbauer!!! :playful:

I think this might be the article that you saw.

This is what is so hard to understand on how Man Utd work. Giggs must know him as well as anyone and they are desperate for a good defender.

I can only imagine he is too cheap for the daft ****s, and perhaps Swansea should have asked £45m for him and they would probably have bought him
