Genuinely so excited for the announcement video and to see him holding our shirt again. Probably one of the best days in my Tottenham life. He's my favourite ever player. Doesn't feel real. Regulion is icing on the cake. All the madness is worth it for these moments. Coys!!!!

Son - Kane - Bale
Ndombele - Hojberg - Lo Celso
Reguilon - Alderweireld - Sanchez - Doherty
Loris

Nngh.

I’m not sure why NDombele is getting into so many of the favoured XIs with Bale and Son we definitely can’t carry TN. Old TN maybe but the Spurs version :-/
With that front three and Doherty and Reguilon it would make most sense to pick a team to let those guys play. Probably with some extra cover at the back. Shouts out wing backs to me.
PEH and Gio in the middle. With three CBs
Midfield is clearly our weakest area so makes sense to use the talent elsewhere.
Dier will play. Jose loves his attitude
So 5-2-3. But really 3-4-3 with the ball

Jose: Daniel can we have Bale?

Levy: No, we have Bale at home

Bale at home:

That Joker bloke on twitter (Madrid's JJ according to someone on here, although I think that's doubtful) saying that we're paying 100% of his wages and that we have no option to buy at end of the loan ... ?

Strictly speaking I think he is correct. We will pay a fee to Madrid that will be passed on to Bale in lieu of salary. We will then be paying him a wage- so all parties win on that front (Bale gets his money, Spurs pay a lower salary and Real get to say that they are not paying his Salary). Also, having no option is in thi case may mean it is compulsory.

Is anyone, who's as pessimistic as me, feels that a one-year loan is really bad for us?

Worst case scenario: Bale is as awesome as we all want him to be. Loan finishes, back to Madrid paying 600k a week. We say, we want him permanently!" They say, "see how good he is! You can have him for 600k p/w!" We say, "we can't afford that." Bale's agent says, "Thanks for shop windowing my client, he's going to Utd/City/PSG/Bayern etc. See ya!"

The only way the deal is a long-term benefit is that we have him to for two years, or that we have already negotiated the second year and that it's triggered in the summer if all goes well.

I don't want us to be a stepping stone for Bale to play for someone else, is basically what I'm saying.

Do you enjoy anything in life?

Even if it's just for a year, I love having him back if he wants to give it his all.

The point you are missing is he only wants to play for spurs . I really believe if we didn’t move for him he would have stayed in Spain playing fucking golf everyday .

Surely Levy will have an option to buy as part of the deal

Nope. I’m just going to enjoy him being back and hope to get to see him play a few times in the ground. Doing both those things at this minute in time is a huge bonus to all of us who have had a pretty shit 16 months and deserve a few smiles. Just enjoy it

I wouldn’t worry about the one year loan, if Bale hits form and enjoys himself he’ll probably want to stay at the club he loves and defend the team’s title ;)

Well I hope you're right and that when he goes back to Real in July he just plays golf for the next year as we won't be able to afford him if they don't pay us half. And if he only wants to play for us, he won't join Utd.

So all good.

However...
