I just can't see him doing it.

Levy isn't the type of person to feel pressured into making a signing in this way. Safety first.
That plus Levy has plans for the £200m we’ll get for Kane. 25m into the team. 50m to the stadium. 70m to his pocket. 50m to Lewis’ pocket. 5m bonus to Levy at the end of the year.

Quite simply if we don't push on massively HK is gone next Sumner. For me it's take a calculated risk now on Bale and a decent CF or that will be the reality.

Every transfer has an element of risk, and the time is running out on getting this one done. Bale preference is us, but they are speaking now to two other teams as well. The financial position is pretty much set and not likely to change regardless of what else happens, so a decision from DL is all that is required.

You’d like to think Levy can see this squad needs a massive lift and signing Bale would do just that.

Shame.

So as far as your concerned it’ll now boil down to DL giving it a thumbs up or a thumbs down based on the compromises Bale/ Madrid have offered?

I think we know how this ends ☹
Knowing Levy he will be clinging to his tried and tested...... Player wants us, club need to get rid so I'll hold out till the death to squeeze a few sheckles out of the deal.

Won't work with this one from what I hear because both Bale camp and Madrid have already moved as far as they are willing to.

Things do change so pinch of salt and all that, but considering Levy's love of a bargain deal, he won't get a player of Bales profile for this price any time soon.

This was always my feeling.
Invest now or Harry goes and frankly, if he does go then you’re at least getting that invest back.

Yes it’s a giant shaped HK home to fill, but that is why we must take a bit of a risk this year and get a striker and imho someone like Bale.

We have enough assets to sell next season with hopefully a better market, but doing nothing now to push for a trophy will only lose us our best striker and probably manager quite frankly.

This is what's growing increasingly frustrating, watching the likes of Everton, Wolves and even Leeds making decisive, pretty big money moves, while we're dithering around over a world class player.
Add to that, flitting from striker to striker, while that's the main position that we need to strengthen ASAP.
I just want Levy to show the ambition to turn us into the big club, that he says he has.

My concern is his injury record of late.

But I do suppose even if we had him for 30 games per season the lift would be massive and he wouldn't bottle as many counter attacks as some of our current lot do.

The thing that twists it for me at this point is Kane. We lose him and we can kiss good by to getting anywhere near close to challenging.

I'd prefer to spend the money on fixing the midfield and getting a striker but maybe it's best we take a plunge and keep Kane motivated to stay.

he can get to feck, getting a bit sick and tired of his penny pinching whilst lining his and joes pockets. Squad has taken a downward spiral whilst others below and level have kicked on over the last few seasons.

Unfortunately it is the same story every window and it just doesn't happen! Levy is full of "hot air" when he talks about having ambition about turning us into a top club.

I don't believe we are flitting from player to player as far as ST is concerned. That's just how it looks.

This is what happened. Levy went home, had a few Chardonnay’s, watched vids of the Bale of old and got all moist and misty eyed. Prob did a drunken text or few, then woke up the next morning and checked his phone.

When he realised what he’d done he denied all knowledge of it, deleted the text and GB/RM number (although he does have the numbers stashed on another device) and moved on with his life like it never happened.

This is what drives me insane, if we don't try and push on with these signings now Kane is gone, we all know that deep down. Son will be close behind as I struggle to see how we convince him to stay if Kane leaves.

If we do the deals (Bale and Striker) and it goes wrong I can accept us losing Kane as we tried to do everything to get the success needed for him to stay. What nobody can accept is us doing nothing and hoping for a miracle.

Its not even that big a financial gamble if you assume Kane leaves we will recieve a huge fee for that, Levy made a huge call getting rid or Poch and bringing in Jose. Has he got the guts to back his initial decision? I doubt it personally.

Please just give us a chance, give us one season where you have done everything to give us the chance to succeed.

30 is still pretty optimistic imo. I’ll be surprised, but not shocked, if he gets plays more than 15 league games. Having said that all we would need is for him to score a bicycle kick in the Europa league final and all would be good.

I totally understand Kane leaving, infact if Levy fucks about again I would encourage him to leave for everyone’s benefit.

But I can’t take the “Kane hasn’t had opportunities to win things here”

Harry has been one of the biggest chockers of all in our biggest games, bar a few Arsenal or Chelsea games.

But it’s this what we’re willing to pay limit on each of those on the short list and waiting till the end of the window for one selling club to fold approach that stinks.

we get gazzumped or the selling club hates Levy or something other factor condemns us to fuk all.

While this particular deal is Levy v himself, Bales injury record and lack of sell on make this too risky, plus we surely have other priorities...

Never go back
