One of the real positives of Daka is that I could really see him and Kane playing together up top. In a lot of the clips he's making runs from deeper positions and I suspect him and Kane could dovetail nicely, taking it in turns to play the 9 and 10 role in a 4-2-3-1 (Kane's practically a 9 and a 10 rolled into one so it shouldn't be too hard for him). Alli could also really use the competition in that position if Lo Celso is in CM.

Diallo on the other hand would be a straight backup, more akin to Llorente in terms of role, if not style.

Fully agreed. Plus the proof of concept is already there, Daka played alongside Håland this season who certainly has some similarities to Kane in playing style.

This reminds me of when we signed Son and I had absolutely no idea who people were talking about or how they knew what he might or might not do. Daka is certainly no Troy Deeney from his clips, but he appears to play up front. ?

Dude, use the word piss...

Saves me from googling

But I’ve taught you another word. And you’ll remember it and tell other people.

Most likely they’ll tell you to piss off. And you’ll giggle to yourself about how amusing that is.

Was it CM99/00 where there was a bug that meant went an offer was accepted you go back to the player profile, change the bid, and then offer the contract and it would go through at whatever you changed it to? One of them had that.

I'd say we should try that, but it does sound like a trademark Levy tactic.
This was 96 I think. Ronaldo and Owen up front for quadruple winning Tottenham. Heady days.

Some recent bits from Dragon1 that match or could have been about Daka;

we are talking to another striker non English based ,young early 20s and not a name we have been linked with previously But huge potential

all our other recent buys are Late teens to early twenties with huge potential ceilings , ie 100 million players if they fulfill their potential

two strikers both 40 million , both fit our profile and Jose likes both one is Jimenez ( I have to do a u turn re previous posts as am now told its possible ) and the other is the one I'm referring to who is much younger early 20s

Then Herc came in with this:

MONEY IS THERE FOR STRIKER!
If age is right, profile right etc, we WOULD spend decent in excess of 25m for a striker. There are 2 certains (meaning talks) taking place with two non-English strikers, age between 21 & 25

I’ve been praying we sign Daka for ages and yes, I have seen him play. Quite a lot actually, as I bet on Salzburg a lot. He’s a serious talent and would really fit the profile of what we are looking for. I, for one, would be delighted.

This rumour definitely only started because of everyone on here going on about him in the Watkins thread.

Fuck sake.
Only SC has the power to manifest a transfer story out of nothing but audacious dreams!

That said... i really, really, really hope there is some truth to this. He looks ideal for Jose's tactics. And like Sonny he can play multiple positions. Gives us more options.

Guess it'll come down to price, competition, and the willingness of the player to join.

For the sake of Harry's health, hope we get him or another striker before we have to pay 9056 games in 4 days.

Tbf Ally has been very selective when mentioning strikers. He only mentioned Watkins in reference to Sun bloke who said we were in for him, along with saying Wilson was merely an option while King was unlikely when everyone on here thought one of the two was guaranteed.

Not saying Daka is happening, but equally I doubt he would bring this up if there wasn't at least something to it. I mean, didn't he basically outline our entire 2019 summer transfer window by saying our main targets were Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sessegnon and a striker before anyone else. I think he might've even been the first journo to pick up on Clarke too.

I get the impression we're pushing hard for either Milik or Daka and both are extremely difficult deals, while Diallo is more of a safe fallback option.

If there's one thing Ally reiterates throughout all his videos when talking about transfers, it's that he doesn't like to mention 'what he's heard' until he's had it confirmed by multiple, reliable sources. Fingers crossed for this one.

Hurry the fuck up before city or Pool sees this and swoops in with a 2x offer.

if they want the player, nothing is stopping them from bidding now and not sure how our interest would change anything. It’s not like they weren’t aware of him already. He’s one of the best known prospects in Europe.

This was Haaland's in the same team before he went to Dortmund for reference. Incredibly similar.

Would potentially be City level in terms of their Aguero/Jesus situation in that although obviously not as good he could actually mean we are still very competitive if Kane was injured. His pace also means a very good option off the bench. Really hope we get him in, his potential is huge.
I’ll send an e-mai recommending him to Daniel,my brother.

Really? Oh I didn't know that. I was hoping he's a super secret player that we magically scouted out of nowhere. Carry on then.

Dots connected? Check. ITK solved? Check. Never heard of the player before an hour ago? Check. Eurotrash music YouTube videos show amazing skill? Check. Compared to some amazing player that was a generational talent? Check. Potential false sense of hope injected into my veins? Check.

All my boxes of convincing me we’ve signed the next Eto’o are connected. Burn me at the stake I can go to heaven if we sign him. Mania. In. Full. Swing.

I declare that those of us on here who think King Baldy will pull the trigger and sign Patson Daka will henceforth be known as DAKA DREAMers.

“If Watkins doesn’t happen, another player is younger. Not American, Scandinavian, or British” Seems to fit that ITK.
