He ain’t gonna join our Spurs....he’s still on that t-shirt in the Neanderthal stage of evolution; way too thuggish... probably juggles clubs as a pastime
Where’s that?Sorry mate by Jose has already joined us
This is a big part of why we've brought in Hojbjerg, Hart and Doherty IMO. I don't think our striker target necessarily needs to have that sort of personality, we just need the best No. 9 we can get. For me that's not Costa.I'm not saying Costa is the answer, but if there one thing I took away from the Amazon doc it's that we badly need more players with an edge about them. We're too nice.
Someone said in the doc that the players themselves think Dier is the only one who enjoys the fight and we need more of that.
I'm not saying I want us to cheat through every game like Costa does, but we really need to be more competitive and harden up.
It’s for both reasons actually (well for me at least)If people think he’s passed it then fair enough, but people not wanting him because they think he’s a bit of a meanie weenie is ridiculous.
Johnathan Woodgate
Ledley King
Hugo Lloris
Van der Vaart
Peter Crouch
We’ve adored (and continue to adore) two convicted hate criminals, one convicted drink driver, an admitted domestic abuser and a man who looks like he does and still felt it necessary to play away from Abby Clancy.
No, my point isn’t that these are bad guys (they’re not), my paint is that these guys have given us far more reason to make character judgements than Costa, who merely played (very successfully) for a team we hate and was a bit of a dick.
His record for Athletico makes me worry that he’s on the decline, but if Jose thinks he can get even 1 good season out of him he’d be worth it.
Never got sent off in England, seems like an intelligent ****.
It’s for both reasons actually (well for me at least)
He seems to be on the decline on the pitch
His playing style is also something that I don’t enjoy (also on the pitch).
You might think he’s a better option than all the other strikers we’ve been linked to ( I don’t)
You might be ok with his diving and off the ball antics (I’m not)
You might be desperate to win finally (so am I). However I think we can win without his approach.
I don’t really understand your link with spurs legends off -field behaviour though. What’s that got to do with anything?
Equally, what has costa done off the field to make him such a meanie -weenie ??
The two things are different to me. People make mistakes in life, sometimes very bad mistakes, and I'm a big believer in rehabilitation. But I don't really take off-pitch stuff into account when it comes to whether or not someone plays for us, though I would personally draw the line for certain offences, and you can imagine what those are.I don’t think he’s a better option, and I didn’t say what I was ok with, I’ve given no opinion as to whether I think he’s good enough or what I think of his antics. All I’m implying is that it’s massively hypocritical to be on a high horse about someone being a twat on the pitch when we’re (myself included) very happy to overlook things about players who have done things in their lives far more worthy of character assassination than someone being a shit on the pitch.
I don’t like diving and I don’t like cheating, and he’s probably too much on the decline to give us what we need too, but I’m not going to judge someone as a human being based on what they do in 90 minutes of adrenaline fuelled competition.

??I only just got that. I’m beered up on my 53rd birf deeSorry mate but Jose has already joined us
That’s not the same point though. We all enjoy Lamela and Dele's shithousery, saying you don't like Costa's smacks of hypocrisy. If he's doing it for us, we'll love it. Simple as. Saying that, I don't want to see him at Spurs because I admit I am a hypocrite.
Yes they might be, but that’s not close to the same thing (as you know).
They don’t have anyone who goes around head butting, elbowing and stamping on players for example. Neither do Liverpool since they sold Suarez.
When costa does all that, then dives around clutching his face it’s embarrassing. The incident with momo Sissoko in Spain is the best example.
Not at spurs thank you
Was Ledley convicted? All I can find is the “alleged” incident, nothing about him being convicted, he admitted being a tit but not to the racism. Still sad though. If people think he’s passed it then fair enough, but people not wanting him because they think he’s a bit of a meanie weenie is ridiculous.

You’re comparing mane to Suarez. OkTrue but they were still the seventh highest scoring team in La Liga with 51.
I don't know.
Mane is an absolute **** for constantly getting away with stamping on people's ankles/raking their heels while then going down shot if the wind changes direction.
He just gets away with it so much Sky and co don't even flag it up anymore.
I’m not taking a holier than this approach, I’m suggesting that others are taking that approach towards Costa. I’m also in no way saying not to support Hugo, what I am saying is that given that we do, it would be hypocritical to use what we deem as questionable on pitch behaviour as a reason to not support a signing.I’m not judging Diego Costa as a human being!
I still don’t see why you’ve bought this up?
I was pretty disgusted when Hugo chose to drive home pissed. But does that mean I can’t cheer when he saves Aubameyangs penalty?
Taking this ‘holier than thou’ approach seems unnecessarily obtuse in this discussion as far as I can see. You’re bringing things up that just aren’t relevant.
I’m only commenting on the on pitch behaviour of costa. I don’t want to win that way. Does that make me a hypocrite? Does it fuck
Actually I believe I’ve misspoken there and that he was investigated but never charged, for which I apologise. Was Ledley convicted? All I can find is the “alleged” incident, nothing about him being convicted, he admitted being a tit but not to the racism. Still sad though.
