He's unlikely to make the England squad anyway with Kane, Greenwood, Ings and Abraham
Abraham should be displacable. His goal scoring form has been pretty terrible since the first 5 games of the season, and he has lost his place in the starting line up. Greenwood is not really a striker. Another one of this winger/forward hybrids. As a young player, form might also fluctuate next season.

I could see a situation where Kane would drop sometimes a bit deeper with Wilson up front. It's a great option to have and Kane has done it very effectively and seems to enjoy getting on the ball a bit more. Wilson can also operate a bit wider so it would be a pretty versatile pairing.

The Player I have seen this season is a fairly pale imitation of the player I saw about 18 months ago. I think he is a really good player or at leas Lt was but I do think this represents a fairly sizeable gamble - his fitness and injury issues, form, age and ? Decline make me slightly worried.

A Prem experienced, 1 goal in 3 games, striker for an alleged price of £10 million.
It's exactly what we need whilst Parrott is developing out on loan.

I'd be all over Wilson, King, or Deeney as back-up/stop gap.

He's unlikely to make the England squad if he goes to us IMO.
Very debatable if Jose goes for two up top at times which I think he will and Wilson proves he can play well with Kane Southgate will definitely put him in the squad that would be a major advantage for him signing for us

I'm surprised you have Deeney in there..!

Not as surprised as I am!
But I don't think we can afford to be too picky for a second striker in the situation we find ourselves in.
He scored 10 in 27 games last year, is Prem ready, and I assume wouldn't cost much.

And if we're being more direct in our play he's always been a handful.

Deeney is a real competitor. I think he would be a good option on a 2 year contract. Far more mobile than Llorente.

The alleged 10m price tag should mitigate some of your concern though.

Why ? The saved nuggets can’t play up front in the Europa league to give Kane a rest. I accept the point about the lower cost but this is a gamble on how many games he will miss. Especially when you’ve just sent your most talented young striker to The new den.

Yeh, and it's hard to shine as a striker in a poor team, particularly if you try and play good stuff like Bournemouth. He didn't score a single time post-mid season break though.

His age is not a concern, he has a few more years left him, at least. Also as a late bloomer I suspect he has a lot of football left in him. Wouldn't be an inspiring signing by any means, but homegrown, fits the bill and if affordable it's logical.

This for me would be all about the financials. He’s a decent striker, decent pace, works hard, decent finisher, and as a guy to come in and compete with / cover for Kane, he’d tick a few boxes. If it is for a rumoured £10m, then I don’t see why not. Would he be happy in that role, remains to be seen, but I want a player who relishes the challenge of coming in to compete. We do have the option to play them as a pair, Jose has played two up top a couple of times, or even play Kane a little deeper to reduce the physical demand on him from time to time.

Exactly this.
If he’s available for the price being suggested, he’s the best option out there. Good enough and experienced enough to be a credible starter (if he gets back to form), whilst making a sufficient step up to be satisfied with a bench spot at times.

Building a winning squad is all about having competition for places. If our current forwards all raised their game as a result of him signing, just imagine the improvement

I was reading an old piece in The Athletic about football analytics, and came across this paragraph:

As a trial, I ask him to find some players on his algorithm with a similar profile to Lewandowski. The search is fast and we could have inputted more specific criteria, but the results are intriguing. “Arkadiusz Milik, Kasper Dolberg, Olivier Giroud and Callum Wilson all offer up similar characteristics,” he says, pointing to the screen. Wilson is particularly noticeable. Some in England are surprised that the Bournemouth forward is often linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, but the analytics show him to share skillsets with a rarefied pool of talent.

Tottenham chasing Callum Wilson after striking Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bargain with Southampton

Tottenham will turn their attention to Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson after finally sealing a deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

...

Spurs will now shift the focus to signing a back-up striker to Harry Kane, with Wilson top of their wish list.

The England striker has told the Cherries he wants out and Tottenham are favourites to beat West Ham and Newcastle to his signature.

Bournemouth want in excess of £20m for Wilson but Spurs believe the player is keen to join them and that a compromise can be reached.

Wilson, who has three years left on his contract, scored 67 goals in 180 appearances for Bournemouth.
