Watched the game against Benfica last night and he was by far the best attacking player on the pitch and seemed to be on another level to his team mates.

His touch and movement are different class and he glides past players effortlessly.

He did drift in and out of the game but based on his performances this season he will be at a much bigger club next season.

Unfortunately I don't think it will be with us but he would be a really good option on the right of a 433 imo.

That is besides the point, good luck comparing any young player on the planet to Sancho right now lmao. I’m talking about a winger available for 7.5m, not 100m+.

I’m not saying Edwards is as good as Sancho, I’m saying that if a youngster doesn’t break into a PL big 6 club’s first team from the academy doesn’t mean they’re a washed player.

Saying Liga NOS is the equivalent of English League One should be a crime

That is what you just did though, you literally compared him to Sancho so it's your fault for bringing up an extreme example in the first place also he didn't slip through the crack he left because he wanted first team football.

The biggest clue is the career trajectories of these young players and it tells you whether the club in question who let them go made a mistake. Edwards went to Norwich and couldn't get a game, he then went to Excelsior and did okay and now hes starting to play well for a middling Portugese team.

If he was good enough he'd be playing at a higher level right now.

Regardless of these facts though it looks Ike he's starting to get it together which is pleasing to see but we were not wrong for sending him out on loan 3 times in order to improve because he initially wasn't anywhere near our first team.

Man, I'd love for him to come back. It finally looks like he's enjoying himself. Good on the lad.

On one hand I agree, but on the other, we had our chance and fucked it up. If he goes on to be a rip roaring success somewhere else then the club should be made to face the consequences of looking bad Maybe it would teach us a valuable lesson in the future of developing players properly.

I'm glad he's doing well, hope he gets a move to a bigger Portuguese team next season. Its good that he's gone abroad and finding his feet.

It just doesn't really work like that though does it?

It does appear that Poch grew a blind spot, but equally it may just be that the switch has now clicked for Edwards in Portugal when out of the safe bubble.

Who knows but I'd still love him back if his progress has been as good as some of these clips are suggesting .

He was always a massive talent but there's a lot more to the professional game.

Anyway, good on him.

When you consider who he plays for, compared to the others who have teams graced with top players, that's a remarkable achievement....

BUT you have to balance that out with playing in a weaker league.

Incredible weren't it? He's been the best player on this pitch...again. Should have had a pen too.

The way he took the ball and turned the man, so pleased to see him doing well

As an aside. Good to see Suliman doing well too with them. He's shored up the defence and him and Edwards know each other well having come from the same England age group.

Word on the street is they might pick up Loader too which would be a coup. Vitoria must have a scout with links to English football as they're making shrewd signings that could really pay off for them and us

If his teammates could control a ball and finish he'd have loads of assists. His decision making has always been excellent

Also, I love watching this guy shift his wait and show his footwork

He’s the main one I’d want us to sign this summer. Doubt he’s want to come back though, or whether Mourinho would want to play him
