Great performance Eric and I’m always thinking ur not good enough but damn what a performance
Played very well, neither challenge were pens, one tackle he did was unreal
If that was Harry Kane going down from that challenge, no way does he get a penalty. The ref was desperate to give United something.Yea agree thought he was good but considering he gave away a penalty (yea pogba made the most of it but it was a very naive challenge and I would be raging if we didn't get given that) I don't consider it any better than good as such a big mistake does impact on the performance.
He's too old and experienced to make sure and decision, little point in being good for 89 mins if you're going to do that.
I didn't want to watch the replay of the pen decision last night because of emotions 'n all that, but having viewed this 5 or 10 times (keep in mind the guys monitoring VAR would have seen it as many, if not more times than this, and from different angles) he was definitely unfortunate to not have it overturned. I can certainly understand Moss awarding it in real time, however when you consider Pogba initiates the contact on Dier's shoulder, and then hangs a left leg there really isn't much Dier can do. It's definitely in the category of "sometimes they're given, sometimes they're not", but it's not as cut and dry as I thought it was last night.
Again, Dier had a great game, so I'm not putting any blame on him at all.
I agree mate thought he was top top class and pogba just threw himself to the ground, disgraceful reallyUnfortunately the interpretation of a foul when it's in the penalty area has now become 'contact'. Many fans accept it but I never will. I don't know what 'simulation' is meant to be if it isn't throwing yourself on the ground when you get touched on the shoulder like Pogba was, but it happens every game and people seem OK with it.
On Eric Dier, he looked like his old self again and fingers crossed he's out of the woods with illness and form. Top class performance.
That block was awesome... the thing is - when our team is backed up in their 18 yrd box - shit will happen - this happened
I agree mate thought he was top top class and pogba just threw himself to the ground, disgraceful really
I think the pen is a classic example of what frustrates fans nowadays. If you watch 80s football players would get kicked but many would only go down if the force was enough to take them down. Not to say there weren't any divers of course.
But nowadays the slightest contact and players just jump on the floor. Dier has grabbed at him so I begrudgingly accept it's a pen. In Pogba's defence if he doesn't jump on the floor the ref won't give it.
If that was penalty, I am the Batman.
