Weren't they asking for 35m in January too?

I reckon something like KWP + 10 million might do it after the obligatory 2 months of Levy-ball.

I’d be looking at Sangare instead. Toulouse won’t be asking anywhere near £35m, but he is a beast of a DM. Raid the French market, Sacramento must know the market well. Sarr, Sangare & Guirassy, solves LCB/LB, DM/CM and WF/CF, meaning any cash could be thrown at Aarons which solves RB and also our HG quota.

That said, the more I see highlight reels of Muriqi, the more I think he could be a more mobile Llorente for us. I don’t imagine he’ll be too expensive. Kane could drop deeper and play off him if we wanted to field both, reducing the physical demands on Kane. Plenty to juggle though, could add Meunier as the RB, then go after someone like Tyrone Mings as LCB if Villa get relegated. As others have said, the likes of Willian or Fraser on a free, replacing Lamela, could also free some cash for other areas.

There is some serious juggling to be done if we want to work the free/loan market, because a lot of other clubs will be shopping in the same market.
The one other factor here though, is if very few clubs have money to spend, which is looking likely, then that drives players values down anyway. Market will level out that way.

Also looks like Hojbjerg will force his transfer and their financial isn't very good

Barring one or two clubs, I'd wager there will be a lot of this going on with finances the way they are. Finances of teams will be under far greater scrutiny currently, I don't think it'll just be Levy this time. Obviously, we'll see.

Well if we sell KWP and Rose - that’s £20m maximum so that’s our transfer budget.
good luck Mr Hitchen and Mr Mourinho.

Not sure where Gedson fits in. There's allegedly an option to buy and although it sounded very expensive it was also suggested this wouldn't be the case. I didn't understand why we got him tbh and we obviously need a proper DM/Deep playmaker type. Thought he was OK when he got on the pitch but didn't see anything particularly exciting. He seems like a B2B type which doesn't seem much of a priority now, or indeed when we signed him.

I agree. He seems a good player, nothing spectacular so far but seems to be behind GLC, Ndombele, Dele, Winks and Sissoko.

Don't see him as a wide player either so not really sure how or where he fits in.

Levy will try to negotiate the Gedson fee down now imo. And one of the ITK's (can't remember who) suggested the option we agreed wasn't ridiculously high. I see him as an obvious upgrade on Sissoko. He plays a very similar role and has the potential to be far more accomplished than him with time.

I think Gedson makes perfect sense in a Mourinho squad.
He transitions quickly and is very athletic. We haven't seen the bets of him as he only played about 5 games for us but I think he is a serious talent and think he will be very very good.

Don't know what he'd cost but have to think around 20-25m. I'd rather keep Sissoko and put that towards a proper DM. Winks and Skipp will be in the mix too. Our injury list has been ridiculous of late but I'd still think that should be enough under most circumstances. Just seems a bit of overkill having him in there too.

Opinion divided on here, similar story re toby and victor i seem to remember

Massively bitter. They did the same with the 2 you mentioned also and look how they turned out.

Inter fans probably felt the same reading our Eriksen thread.

I think if we didn’t spend this summer given everything that is going on, we would understand but not spending for a whole season when there wasn’t a global pandemic makes it unacceptable for that to happen again. I know one doesn’t have to do with the other but it has affected my patience and empathy with the club’s financial considerations.
