I like a bit of fire but he needs to think about his teammates and manager. If hed have been sent of it could have been 3 or 4.
You're correct, of course, but I don't think he intentionally stamped on the man, I think he was trying to drag the ball back and the Chelsea player slide in and in a split second his leg was now where the ball had been (or were Le Celso expected it to be)I like a bit of fire but he needs to think about his teammates and manager. Can I ask if you believe that Maguire straightened his leg to stop a player landing on him or Wilders suit was the reason he lost to Fury? You're correct, of course, but I don't think he intentionally stamped on the man, I think he was trying to drag the ball back and the Chelsea player slide in and in a split second his leg was now where the ball had been (or were Le Celso expected it to be)
In slow motion it looked really bad, in truth it was very bad, but it was accidental I believe
No. He is more an Ander Herrera, Lallana type of player. They can play deeper but defending isn't their game. So, do we think "Studs" Lo Celso could do a job as a defensive midfielder?
Of course currently, until 60 mins, all midfielders are defensive midfielders, but he has stood out:
He has the awareness and speed to track midfield runners. And he is competitive.
And like Dembele at his best, he can carry the ball to beat a press.
Unlike Dembele he knows when to pass and has good distribution.
Maybe it would be a waste of a creative player, but our most creative player has been alderweireld for over a year. Passing the role to GLC would move this hub 15yds up field, with the option of him running with it.

DM is the position we need to recruit for.I thought he was poor defensively yesterday and left his side of central midfield/defence exposed for their players to run in to.
I Don’t think he’s up to playing that central midfield position in the premier league but we don’t have any option in there. It’s a better option than sissoko anyway but I think that central midfielder has to be the most important position we reinforce in during the summer. It’s actually desperate how badly we need one.

What we need is a DM. Someone mobile, physical and capable of shielding the back 4 and actually providing our midfield with a platform to play.
Lo Celso should be in a 3 man midfield alongside a DM and another CM (Ndombele, Winks etc). This will release the shackles and allow him to get forward more to express himself.
Lo Celso is perfectly capable of playing centrally in the PL, he just can't be shackled in to such a defensive position in the midfield, it's not his game. He needs to be a number 8 in a midfield 3 or play number 10 in a 4-2-3-1.
Shines the light on the transfer business in the summer. He is still clearly an 8 and at times struggled yesterday, he also did a lot of work tracking back. Thing is, if he is an 8, what was the point in buying two of them?
Lo Celso has looked awful when played wide. Still think last summer was rubbish window for what we have gotten as a return out of it.Poch wanted to play the dreaded diamond!
That's why he let their midfielders run past him numerous times yesterday.

Ah, well I can see a flaw with that - but I can see your point ... Although I thought it was diamond we were transitioning to? Hmmm, confusing times.Because we could finally play a proper 4-3-3 formation with a DM behind Ndombele and Lo Celso, mirroring Liverpool and City's midfield shape.
He’s literally the only reason I’m holding any hope watching us at the moment.
