I did a post a few weeks back comparing him to Rose/Walker I think, and he's already scored more than Walker and is probably not far off assists now. Different players, but attacking contribution is good.
Aurier's benefits outweigh his negatives. But very very different. Rose and Walker were fundamentally defenders first. OK Walker often relied on his pace to make up for his mistakes but both Walker and Rose would effectively do both. Aurier is a good player, and honestly a seriously underrated crosser. But he is not a defender. He is aggressive in a tackle sure (often too aggressive) but switches off an aweful lot and often seems to not know which man he is supposed to be marking etc.I did a post a few weeks back comparing him to Rose/Walker I think, and he's already scored more than Walker and is probably not far off assists now. I was thinking of this recently but truth is he probably is. Personally I had Kane down before his injury. I mean he wasn't playing his best but contributed a lot to the team and was still scoring. I also thought about Toby, for the sole reason that he, well, has been a lot of games and erm has probably been our best defender? But I think he's had a poor season. Thing is people tend to remember the performances in the last third of the season, so anyone who hasn't been awful is in the running.People won’t like to hear it but he’s probably a contender for POTY, we haven’t had many standout performers this season.
This is true. However the flat cap brigade will never vote for him.People won’t like to hear it but he’s probably a contender for POTY, we haven’t had many standout performers this season.
