WTF didn't we buy him when we sold Walker? The player recruitment at this club is an embarrasment. Pereira, Maddison, Tielemans and look where Leicester are now....
we didn't want them too apparently. well look at them then us, their recruitment is top tier. I dread to think who leads ours

I’m sure he’s desperate to join us. The mess that we are. There are about 3 - 4 players who signed for them in the last couple of seasons who would have improved and freshened us - alas we missed them all, or where never interested. Remember at one stage their wasn’t a player in the world who would have improved us, despite us winning nothing!!! Most idiotic transfer committee management in place at any PL club!

This summer I would show up at Leicester with 120m for Ndidi and Pereria. It’d be an overpay but would solve 85% of our problems.

We've got as much chance as signing Trent Alexander Arnold. No chance

I think they would turn that down honeslty

They don't have fantastic financial so I'm not sure about that. And only one "elite" player who didn't leave Leicester is +30 yrs old striker with no guaranteed spot at 1st squad at any top6 clubs.

Unless there’s some type of clause in his contract that can be activated by a CL club, then I think there’s more chance of myself running out at RB ( me incredibly left-footed and using my right to mainly stand on)

We do have problems with our recruitment but I thought that all of these players were considered but someone turned them down?

Their finances are about to improve dramatically with Champions League football though, and ours in all likelihood will go the other way.

Like everyone else has said, unless he has a release clause of some sort we can trigger in January, this is a non starter.

Shocking scouting from the club on this one.

We went for Aurier over this guy as simple as that. That's fucking madness.
Was re-reading the old thread from that Summer. JJ confirmed we were in for him then in August the deal was dead.

They have 13m matchday revenue vs 71 for us(and now we will have even more at new stadium), at 17/18 they had 159m revenue compared to ours 381. They will still have worse financial with them at UCL than Spurs.

Then it comes down to whether the club refused to pay the asking price, Perreira turned us down (doubtful) or whether Poch rejected him.

Considering Aurier cost a little more it seems like it was a choice on our behalf. Now considering we had to wait until the very last moment of that window to get him in - due to his criminal record - it seems an incredibly poor decision now. We could have had Perreira in early that window and he'd be a well established playee now.

Having said that, one player wouldn't have made a difference. We have many issues so it's a bit futile dwelling on one signing, it's all down to turning our noses up at several players.

I'm gonna say I highly doubt that Poch rejected him if you follow the timeline of JJ confirming interest/dealings in June and then the deal is dead in August, then late in August we pick up the Aurier deal. Reeks of us not getting a deal done.

Pereira moved a year after Aurier came to us. It's pretty obvious we'd have bought him instead of Serge in 2017 if he'd been available for the fee Leicester paid.

We honestly thought we had him 2 years ago - Deal was done at the time and Porto completely changed the conditions and in that instance we walked away.
Also Leicester wont let him go.

Regardless what happened it was a massive mistake. If I remember reports correctly there was something to do with a change in his release clause sometime that summer.

How many times does this seem to be the case. I'm sure it has nothing to do with DL fucking clubs around with his own dealings!
