I don't want him in the starting 11, not based on this new interview, but because he's been a fkn liability this season and we need to fix it in January.

Who hasn't?

At least Rose have had some half decent games. More than you can say about most of our defenders this season.

The Rose we had some years ago will never return, but he was among our best players in the CL final. He can still play a part.

And compared to Vertonghen who seemingly is in a similar position he has been world class this season.

Rose for some reason is the only player on this team that gets disliked for wanting to stay (I know that has not always been the case).

I think if he had come out and said he wants to see out his contract and nothing else then most would of excepted it. The tone and manner of what he said wasn’t right and he is deluded if he thinks poch hasn’t told Levy to sell him. Personally think he’s within his rights to see it out but would be interesting to see what happens to his Euro place if sess takes over at spurs.

The tone and the manner? Have I missed a video? If not how can anyone tell which tone and manner it was said in?

Danny Rose has been loyal to us for over a decade. People including me wanted him gone but he stayed on and fought for his place in the team. The management has been pushing for a transfer but he’s stayed on. Mental issues has bothered him but he fought back. Show some love ❤️

Whats he done wrong?

In my opinion he’s not done anything too wrong really, just being unprofessionally open about internal situations. He could of just said he’s happy to stay as long as the manager is picking him, rather than bring up the whole contract situation and Levy’s comments.

It just reflects a bit poorly on us and indicates a disconnect between the chairman and the manager regarding the player’s contracts and their importance to the team.

Of course, this may all be wrong. But Danny’s comments have left things open to interpretation, when he could have kept some of the details a little closer to his chest!

If you think Poch doesn’t want Rose sold you are very wrong. I bet Poch would bite your hand off if an offer case in. As people said he was left at home in the summer.

Don’t be fooled by Rose he’s only looking after himself of course. The only reason he hasn’t left us is because a supposed top club hasn’t come in for him, so he’s looking to leave in a free to ensure he gets the most attractive offer. He’s being hugely disrespectful to the club by saying the things he is. On top of that he is utter shit nowadays. Rose is a bit symptomatic of the behind the scenes stuff going on at the moment. We really need to clear out players like him. Rose always struck me as someone with a huge chip on his shoulder.

What a strangely selective way of viewing Rose. He has said some things in the past he probably shouldn't have, but one thing I can never hold against Rose is his effort on the pitch. Not too many Spurs players I can say have consistently always given their best. And those are the players we should "clear out"? Quite a few that should leave long before Rose based on his "attitude" or whatever you would call it.

Rose and any other player is fully within their rights to stay at their club for the length of their contracts, the club are paying the wages and are also within their rights to have Rose (or any other player) just train and never play for the club again.
This will be a problem for all clubs as the players/agents will be after the transfer fee or massive wages from now on for their clients.
Can honestly see more than a few careers stalling from now on..

Nothing in my opinion.
Exactly. 29 year old player wants to stay, manager wants to keep him, Levy and board want to sell, player speaks out. I have no problem with this at all as at least it gives you an insight into some of the unrest right now and shows that all the blame cannot be put on Poch (although a lot still can). The situation is probably the same with Verts too. Eriksen and Toby is different as we know they both want out.

Yes Rose is regressing, but he gets far too much hate on here and I’m glad the fans in the stadium still back him and sing his name as I don’t buy into the whole “Davies is better” argument (he’s bang average). If all our players showed Danny’s passion on the pitch we wouldn’t be 14th in the league.

Are you actually watching Rose play, on the pitch, with his passion?

He is part of the reason we are where we are, multiple times this season he has been found wanting.

Fork, done.

He will be 31 by the end of his contract that he is so keen to see out. Sorry but who does he think will come in for him when he's that age and completely shit nowadays. He will be very lucky to be in a top half club. No sympathy from me either, he has burnt his bridges on and off the pitch more than enough now.

But you're missing the point completely. People aren't annoyed purely because he wants to stay. I don't think anybody (sensible at least) blames him for wanting to see out his contract, as he is completely within his rights to do.

The annoyance comes from him yet again airing the club's dirty laundry in public to pursue his own agenda. It must be about the 3rd or 4th time. If you then put that in the context of him not that long ago publicly saying in so many words that the club wasn't good enough for him and that he'd be better off elsewhere and now all of a sudden he's realised nobody better than us wants him and is angry that the club wants to move him on, it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth for me.

Yes mate, I’m there every week. That ok? I watch with my own eyes and would rather Danny at left back than anyone else in our current squad. Sessegnon isn’t a left back in my opinion and Davies ain’t good enough. I don’t see anyone play with any more passion than Rose, but many show far less

Passion doesn't make up for quality.

That’s a little unfair as I’m sure many a player at the top of their game has been tapped up for bigger better clubs and tempted by the lure of higher wages and more chance of silverware. He also spoke openly about his home sickness and depression which I believe he has since addressed and opened up about, so just maybe he’s now happier in himself and happy with life at Spurs and in London.

I do feel he is a bit of a mouthpiece for Poch which is why This sort of inside info doesn’t bother me too much. I also fee that many on here cannot wait to put the boot into Danny and I find it harsh and a tad unfair.
