I was disappointed to be impressed by the look of Chelsea's team against Norwich. They looked like a young, vibrant team with a new purpose. They may not make it this season but I think they may be on the way up(unfortunately) and they even managed to offload Luiz to Arsenal for decent money.

Yeah Chelsea are basically where we were after 6-12 months of Poch. Young and hungry and exciting, albeit pretty flawed (I think Chelsea will drop a LOT of points as they aren't quite CL quality in either box).

Compare and contrast that to our laboured football however and it does make you wonder if things have gotten too stale at Spurs. Something needs to kickstart this, we have not been fun to watch for quite a while now. Hopefully starts this weekend.

I think Poch's comments for the last year or so have clearly been saying that the writing is on the wall.

Oh god, please not Maureen. Literally anyone but Maureen.

The more I think about it the more bizarre it all seems, Poch's constant agitating quotes about leaving, contractual unrest, really poor performances etc

But the most sobering thought of all, is we were very close to having 3 straight defeats this season, two of which are at home. People can say well we didn't, but if that lucky deflection never fell to Kane in the 70th odd minute, the Villa game was going the same way as the Newcastle game. We walked away from the Villa game 3 weeks ago knowing we'd gotten away with one there, and it papered over the cracks.

By rights we got absolutely battered at City and should have lost that game too. And then, well enough said about Newcastle. And two of those teams are among the absolute worst in the league, they could easily finish 19th and 20th this season.

Regardless of all the excuses, and Poch has had so many excuses the last 12 months, there are no excuses for what we are seeing on the pitch.

You are completely right, watching Chelsea, you can see a squad busting a gut for the manager, and you realise how stale it looks like it's gone at Spurs. You have to ask, how many times can players lose Semi Finals and Finals under a coach before they lose faith?

The more I think about it, the more I keep coming back to the international break. One way or another it will be sorted there.

Think there will be very honest talks with Levy and Poch and if his hearts not in it he leaves, if his heart is I think he will get all the time he needs from Levy within reason.

Do we think at this point Poch wants Eriksen to stay or go? Or any player with any uncertainty hanging over them?

We shouldn't have to wait until after the international break, you can lose ground by that point. I honestly think there are now no excuses, new stadium, new signings the manager wanted. Time to push on

Agree and don't give me the "slow starters shit". There's no excuses for that anymore. City/Liverpool are not slow starters. We're not gonna win a thing if our mindset is like that.

While I won't disagree that overall performances in the last 3 months of last season and the first 3 games of this season have been poor, can we stop taking away from the game that matter of 'luck' - it's been part of the game since the year dot and affects all sports. We've had both good and bad luck in the opening three games as well as toward the end of last season, as have other teams. It's just a factor in the sport. Using it as a way of bashing the team/coach to back a point of view is lazy.

I can't remember the last time we started a PL game well. You question what Poch is saying to them before kick off. Even United are playing with more verve and conviction, Arsenal are, Chelsea certainly are. This squad is miles better than what it is showing. By far the worst of the top 6 on form and performances.

Completely Spurs tinted glasses on there mate. I watched the Villa game with and Man U and Arsenal fan who both said we deserved to win and felt we were going to do so for most of the game.

It's almost as if everyone has been brainwashed by some covert facebook campaign to revise Poch's last 18 months at the club.

I can't quite believe some of the comments. It's clear there are issues, but don't for one minute underestimate Poch's achievements.

He needs to be afforded much more time than '3rd game in' to sort out the hand he has been dealt in the TW

Next we’ll have more leaks from the club to undermine him so that the masses turn against him and call him a fraud, and Levy gets off light yet again.

I'll be absolutely gutted if Poch goes but if things are going wrong and there is no way out then maybe we just need to bite the bullet and make the change. For what it's worth I'd welcome Mourinho here - we all know he would only stay 2 years but he would be our best bet at winning something which is what we all want at the end of the day.

I think this is going to be the crux of any argument moving forward - be it Jose or another manager - fans will always want to win things, now so more than ever because everything else is supposedly in place - so do you sacrifice a manager who develops things the right way, cultivates a squad, develops youth (I know some debate this) and win something 'organically' or do you go for results based football with a mentality that drives a perhaps 'win at all costs' attitude while passing over the organic stuff?

Be interesting to see folks take on this if it is indeed the beginning of the end.

I want to win things - I want us to fulfill the promise there is in the squad and genuinely challenge for everything we can. I've had enough of being the 'nearly team'. I love Poch and admire him greatly however I'm concerned he might not be the guy to take us that next step - the hardest step of them all - to become a team that wins trophies.

Fair, and wonder how many more are torn between the pride and respect that they have for Poch and all he has done and achieved yet just want trophy(s) now.

What Poch says is nonsense. He talked about leaving and 5 minutes later signed for 5 years. Win this Arse game and it will be carry on time.
The problem with Poch is he needed to talk to Levy with respect for himself and tell Levy in no uncertain terms what he needs and live and die by it instead of letting his emotions out at other times, interviews etc. Best he dealt with Levy directly. There is no doubt they both have a lot invested in this project but Poch needed to make it clear what he expected and if it didn't happen go in there back to Levy and speak his mind again. That would bring things to a head without all this gossip

I don't dislike Maureen as a person, I actually find him quite entertaining, but I'm not enthusiastic about his brand of football. Having said that, if he does end up here, I'd give him a damn good chance to prove himself before making any kind of judgment on his ability to manage the Club.

Still going with the meltdown, are we? You people are beyond saving. Go and believe what you want. Us rational people will just be here laughing at you in 3 weeks time.

He is a winner and although I do share your reservations about style of play - it is effective and he knows how to get a team working together. Ok so it would all end in tears within 2 years but he would probably help to sort out whatever voodoo shit is in the club that has stopped us being able to win anything.
