I think that as great as he was last season, his most important role once everybody is settled is going to be as a willing and effective alternative who can slot in for any of a number of players. He’ll get a lot of game time but if the signings work out as hoped I think by the end of the season he’ll be a very capable, versatile first reserve. That’s no bad thing, but our two major summer signings have been central midfielders which probably says all we need to know. I’d not be shocked to see Sissoko start every match before the international break, and he’d probably always start 2 in 5 as being able to rotate effectively is the point of having a good deep squad, but if he’s still first choice at CM by the end of the season it’ll mean that somethings not gone to plan with Winks, Ndombele or Lo Celso, or that there’s been a bad injury.i think people seem to forget about sissoko he was our player of the season last year and his partnership with Ndombele will be crucial in a lot of games next season
