I think he will end up going for 40-50m, can’t see Levy cutting off his nose to spite his face and risk losing him for nothing

Should be plenty of acceptable takers at that price.

I could not get a monkeys if he went to United, as long as we replaced

They key bits from the article:

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had valued Eriksen at £130million when English clubs made enquiries at the end of last season, but European clubs may try to snap up the Dane for under £50m.

The 27-year-old could also be left on the substitutes’ bench by manager Mauricio Pochettino if he is not sold and Tottenham land either Fernandes or Lo Celso.

Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Eriksen, but the Italian club had prioritised a bid to try to re-sign Paul Pogba. Real Madrid, who have also been chasing Pogba, have Eriksen on their list of potential targets but have delayed making any move for the player while they try to convince Manchester United to sell. Both clubs could make moves for Eriksen after Thursday, depending on what happens with Pogba, while Atletico have also been keeping an eye on Eriksen this summer and Inter coach Antonio Conte wants reinforcements.

Tottenham could face similar situations over Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, who had both been expected to leave the club this summer. Tottenham are closing in on Sessegnon with midfielder Josh Onomah heading the other way, which would potentially encourage bids for Rose. Like Eriksen, Alderweireld is entering the last year of his contract which means Tottenham may be forced to listen to offers for the Belgian after Thursday’s English deadline has passed.

The Mail is also reporting virtually exactly the same story (and not quoting the Telegraph) so a couple of people have been briefed about this. Rumblings of something?

We have to take whatever it is and move on. I could see this happening weeks ago.
Eriksen should have signed an extra year and given us time and he should have played his arse off over the past 6 months. Now he is a bit a screwed up in his head and it's all gone sour

As predicted, Eriksen to United rumours are hotting up.

At this point, if he moves before our window closes it’s great news. Then at least we have a chance to spend the $.

United are already past us. Reinvest the money and fight off Chelsea and Arsenal for 4th.

Great. So we'll lose Eriksen and then leave Lo Celso/Fernandes to the last minute hoping to reduce the fee and end up with neither. Then Lamela will get injured and we'll be without a playmaker type.

if this happened, I'd offer to hand in Poch's resignation for him and wish him good luck at a serious club.

Levy's to Poch "You got CL final with no new signings last year, imagine what you could so with one new signing but minus Eriksen?"

I dont think it will happen i.e. I do think we would bring in GLC

But depending on how much money we bring in it may allow us to bring in a right back which would be good.

BUT

Lets be honest we all can see not bringing a midfielder in and letting go of Eriksen

Manure might give us fucking Fred - flashbacks of the Berba deal haha

They need several signings and a new manager before they're 'past us'.

I think people forget that we were fighting for the league title until January last season, until our injuries and post WC tiredness caught up with us. We are a lot closer to City and Liverpool, than to Chelsea, Arsenal and United. United have strengthened, sure, but they are far from our level yet.

How anyone sees Utd as any threat is beyond me. They’ll finish outside the top 6 with Ole in charge.

I agree with that but if we are this close and don't wish to push on, when will we push on? When Arsenal, United and Chelsea recover and go past us?

The spin is starting now, the excuses, Eriksen - no doubt - is one of them.

If we do finally sell Eriksen, then we have to sign both BF and GLC. Just signing one is not enough. What's the point of selling Eriksen and buying one of BF and GLC? I'd rather keep a unhappy Eriksen and one of the aforementioned names. Such a frustrating transfer window.

We will sell Eriksen and sign an AM next summer which we will be told to be grateful for, when all we will be doing is signing a replacement a year later.

Sound familiar?

If Eriksen leaves and we don't sign both GLC and BF, it's more and more obvious Levy has no ambition of winning the league and is simply doing the bare minimum he can publicly get away without a fan revolt to keep us competitive and around the CL places.

Selling players like Dembele and Eriksen and merely replacing them is not improving, it is not moving forward, it is standing still, and if you stand still in this league you move backwards, which is what we did last season.

If I was Poch, I'd be amazed if he hasn't walked by June 2020 if Levy doesn't finish this window having properly backed him and provided him with at least those two players. He should go to a club who display ambition to win things.

It's really so simple, if Levy provides Poch with both GLC and BF, I'll hold my hand up and say the guy has ambition and wants us to win things. If he merely replaces Eriksen, it's obviously just not acceptable.

We absolutely cannot well Erikson to Man Utd for almost any fee, simply on principle alone.

We’re either a club that strengthens our rivals or we aren’t. This week will show what sort of club we really are. Perception is reality.

Selling Eriksen to United is an unmitigated disaster. I know the itk's said he's been fucking us around but how has it come to this?
