Robertson’s PL debut was in 2016 after Hull got promoted.
Really?

You know they both debuted in the EPL in 2017 yeah?

I’ve had some long lay ins in the past, but have I missed the last 4 years? ?

I agree with the rest of your post though, definitely a gamble, but I really don’t see Rose leaving atm, there’s been absolutely no noise on potential suitors that I’ve seen, so it should hopefully give Sessegnon a full year to work with the fullback whisperer.
You may be right about missing the last few years (maybe aside for the season Robertson went down w/ Hull)
Robertson debuted in the EPL with Hull in 2014:
TAA in 2016:

So as I stated previously, the 2019/2020 season will be Robertson's 5th season in the EPL and Trent's 4th.

People are never happy

Those on here - What are a scouts doing why dont we pick up young talent before they explode, are worth 100mil and are out of our reach

Also those on here - Signing young talent is nice but if we want to be a big club we need to sign established stars that will immediately produce.

I for one am very pleased if we get Sess....I think he will make a bigger impact sooner than expected

So, just to clarify, TAA made 2 starts in his first EPL season, and there are people on here who think we shouldn’t sign Sessegnon because he won’t contribute this season? Short sighted beyond belief

And TAA only has 20 more premier League appearances than Sessegnon despite it being his 4th season in the division.

If Rose stays, then if used, I think Sess will be played in a more attacking role on the left flank until he improves his defensive qualities under the guidance of Poch& Rose.

Because that's a whole year not in our set up, and a lot can happen in a year? Oh, and you can only sign a pre-contract with a foreign team...

Of course, lots can. Just feel RS is not as essential as some other signings.

Should we sign him I’ve a feeling he will be used off the bench at first if we are chasing a goal. Either at fullback, wingback in a 343 or further forward to allow us to push son or Lucas into a more forward position. It would give us real options to change things off the bench. Something we’ve lacked in the past and a reason why I suspect we are pushing hard for the transfer. He’s versatile.

My bad on Robertson, it wasn’t clear on Hull on Premier League. com, but they stated that TTA’s debut for pool was in 2017.

Agree not essential in the sense that other positions require more urgent attention/funds but still essential in as much as he's a good young player, who i think will be a great player, so he needs to be grabbed while the will is there from his side.

If he gets knocked back by us now and has to spend months in the Championship, who knows who'll come in for him later ? And having been knocked back by us when his heart (and head) are set on the move,he could easily feel let down by us and look elsewhere in future, even if we did go back in for him.

Definitely needs doing this window imo (and as i've stated many times, he'll play plenty this season 'cos he's a very talented footballer)

No one is overly excited that he is coming, just say so much about the CE situation.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Happy enough assuming that Poch wanted him. He appears versatile - obviously he didn't have the greatest premier league campaign but at least he has some experience. It does feel like this is an opportunity that might not come around again if the club doesn't take it now.

Same fucking idiots crying we are in for Sessegnon are the same fucking idiots that lament we didn't go for Brooks before Bournemouth signed him.

Because the last couple of times we waited to potentially save money we lost out on two good homegrown players in Barkley and Grealish.

He is a useful player to have in the squad as he can play all along the left hand side. He can have a year learning his craft at LB and acclimatising to Poch tactics without the pressure of being thrown in at the deep end. If come January he needs game time then we can loan him then.
play him instead of rose

But Trent is 5 years younger! Most players Trent's age (20) haven't broken into a a Premier League side yet, let alone one that is challenging for (and winning) major titles. Only Owen, Gerrard, Fowler and Sterling played their 50th PL game for Liverpool at a younger age.
