the stadium doesn't have to be paid for overnight, we have spent the last 8years pilling the little money compared to todays into the team and stadium, so now the stadium is finished, and we know we are getting 26k more fans through the doors and the profits for drink and food have gone through the roof compared to Wembley and the old WHL.
Exactly and don't forget all the other events at the stadium. It is practically a 7 day week events venue right now, with various corporate events being hosted there, along with NFL, Womens Football, Rugby and future music events, etc...
We're already at number 10 in the Football Rich list and with a full season at WHL very likely to number 9 or higher by this time next year.
I do think people are looking too much at our player spending during a period in which we saving for the stadium and training ground building and not looking at the wider picture which is now emerging.
I would also say that last summer wasn't even about lack of funds for player signings but more about a lack of players at a sensible price that a) wanted to come to us and b) would have actually improved us. This summer is already very different as the few clubs that are bigger and more attractive than us are all looking at a number of £100m+ players as their targets (Hazard, Neymar, Pogba, Griezmann, etc..) which is leaving us in a prime position for the <£70m players on the market.
