He's a fantastic player who has had a poor season by his standards for whatever reason...
Some of the things being said in here are based on factual inaccuracies. E.G. 'Eriksen isn't creative' - that is just false.Maybe people just have different opinions
I think it's also probably true that when we know a player has one year left and hasn't signed a new contract, we're more prone to unconsciously tend to diminish our view of their performance as emotional protection against them leaving and an unreasonable suspicion that they are less motivated to put in effort
I know this has been rehashed again & again here...Eriksen staying with an extended contract would be brilliant news even if some feel he isn’t world class or that Madrid fans would be on his back, the fact is he has made a significant contribution to the team we have become under Poch. We would struggle to fill the void for sure.

I dont believe fans are understating his quality. Its the commitment. He has made the statement he wants fresh challenge and wants to leave. Real question is, if he doesnt get his move, how motivated he is going to be even if he signs some sort of deal ?
This is a season of transition for us when we move from one project to next big project.
I would rather want to move on, rather than us being his reluctant 2nd choice.
If the stories are true that its Levy who is pushing the move to Madrid, then its very clear IMO that even Poch & Levy has given up on him
But you never know...we got Toby playing again after previous season issues. It really comes down to Eriksen's commitment rather than whether he is a creative player or what not...
He’s going to leave on a free in 12 months time isn’t he ?
That may of changed?Think it's been said many times that if he doesn't get his move, he will sign an extension.

Our transfer windows have to be like cheap Latin soap operas- every day a new twist and turnThat may of changed?

Tbh it was an utterly stupid thing for Eriksen to say from a negotiation standpoint. Promising to sign a new deal if the club don't sell you, when you want to leave is a weird comment and really weakens your hand. That may of changed?

I found it weird that he had all the leverage with the contract and seemingly threw it away by offering to sign a new one.Herc confirming my worst fears there. Contract was always going to be used for leverage. Madrid may well tell him to sit tight for 6 months.
Only hope is Zidane flat out refuses him and he can be convinced to stay. Or alternatively we can somehow get a decent price for him.
