CL final, what an achievement.

I remember the game away to Madrid, Lennon shat himself in the tunnel, Crouchy decided he wanted to get sent off after 30 seconds and the rest is history.

Spurs are a different animal. They really have to try and enjoy being out there. These players crow about leaving clubs to get CL football and win things, well here's your chance to win the biggest club prize of all.

90 mins of not shitting it, not deciding to only turn up for the 2nd half, not caring, not trying, not doing what your paid to do, not immediately going 1 behind.

90 mins of playing football on the biggest stage of your career, play for the love of the game, play with freedom, play with passion, Audere est Facere Tottenham.

I am really hoping that this becomes one of those iconic moments in sporting history that sticks with people.

There are more than enough facts and stats and views that are piled unfavorably for this match. Whether it's form or history or injuries or anything -- it's all against us. And yet, this is what makes history changing moments possible. Unsurmountable odds, compelling narratives, stars aligning, Harry Fucking Kane.

It's the responsibility of ever Spurs fan in attendance to treat this match as if their voice can change the outcome. Enjoy this one -- hopefully you can tell your grandkids about it!

On a flight about to take off from Miami having got up at 3am this morning. No ticket for the game, but couldn’t imagine watching it anywhere other than Madrid. Thankfully my wife is extremely understanding!

Our family have been Spurs since the 1940s, and I’ve been watching since the 70s. I won’t rehearse the many mediocre years we’ve endured.

But then, somewhere around the time of Martin Jol I think it was, there was a sense that the old giant was stirring. Like many of you, I started hoping.

Whatever happens on Saturday, we know now that our hope was not misplaced. We’re witnessing something remarkable.

Come on you Lilywhites.

Be safe everyone heading out to Madrid..... Don't come back without the trophy!

I'm so freaking nervous, the next couple of days are gonna be torture. I am not gonna sleep a wink Friday night! I just hope we are able to perform to our ability and the occasion doesn't get to the players.

This last minute at work seems to have taken about 12 hours. Everytime I finish a bit of work my mind switches back to this. I've managed to do more work today than any day recently just to try and take my mind off it:oops:

I can’t help but feel there is something truly poetic about how we have managed to get here.

We’ve scraped and battled and fought and also had a little Lady Luck on our side.

We’ve been decimated by injuries. We’ve been threadbare.
But time after time, this team has refused to give up.

It’s a massive if, but IF we manage to win on Saturday night, it will possibly be a once in a lifetime moment. One that couldn’t be written more perfectly.

My match routine will be the same as always. I’ll watch it with my family. The joy in our living room, and seeing my parents, and especially my dad, at the final whistle of the Ajax game was something else. Something that I’ll never forget.

It brings a tear to my eye thinking of what it may possibly be like on Saturday. I don’t want that moment to be denied.

I’m not a believer in fate as such. But for one night only, given our journey thus far, this has to be ours.

It has to be.

Dunno 'bout that, I'd like to see him actually. I'd like his grit on the pitch, his "do that again and I'll make your sister pregnant"-sort of attitude, and his defensive qualities. But then I'd also want Vertonghen as LWB, and I doubt both happen at the same time.

My biggest decision is whether to go to bed after the game to get some sleep or sTay up all night and go straight to the victory parade on Sunday morning.
Our time has come!

Since this is the very last match thread of the season, I'm going to be a self-inflated, insufferable know-it-all knob and peek back at some of my best CL comments this year:

Before Dortmund at home:
Would love for Vertonghen to take one for the team and maraud down the left wing.
(Vertonghen went on to have his match of the season as LWB)

After learning that we had drawn City:
I don't really mind that much that we got City. 1) beat them (which I think we'll do), and reaching the semis and playing Ajax or Juventus will be better than winning a domestic cup trophy.

Before semis vs. Ajax:
I too absolutely think we can score on that team. 100% possible. As was the case before the home leg, it is our defending that worries me.
We will score so many goals, many many goals! The MOST of goals! Nobody scores more goals than us, nobody! We are the most scoring team. Ask anybody and the'll tell ya, we will score so many goals!
:D

I'm just that fekking amazing

I’m proud of just getting here so I’m pretty relaxed about the game. Win or lose, it’s an amazing achievement.

That said, I am sure come Saturday morning i’ll start getting those visions of Kane lifting the trophy and little butterflies will begin in earnest.

Still so bizarre to be in this position though. I never thought i’d see this moment.

I can't believe that I'm going to miss the most important game of our recent history and certainly the biggest game of lives as Spurs fans. Little did I know that a year ago, booking a wedding (a wedding photographer) would mean me missing the most important game ever. I think we can pull this one off. Something is telling me that this season was meant to be for us. The injuries, the stadium fiasco, the lack of spending - everything we did brought us to where we are now. Matchday I won't be able to get on here - let's hope Saturday night when I eventually get home (long after the final whistle) that we are basking in the glory of being called Champions of Europe! COYS!!
Mate, what you'll be experiencing dwarfs the CL final and then some. You'll be starting a legacy of your own. Football is just a sidenote. Congrats.
