Mate MP isn’t a magician, he can’t do that to every player. None of the players signed since summer 15 has he been able to turn to gold. Right now we have a player approaching his 24th birthday who’s looking a world beater in the bloody championship. Sessegnon was on a different planet last season in the Championship, was voted POTY, yet he’s struggled. Not ever star player that level will become a Dele. He’s a one off freak of nature!
It really doesn't matter whether it's the Championship, Eredivisie, Scottish Premiership, Portuguese league, you look at the player's talent, maturity, drive and determination, and Grealish has shown loads of all of them.

Nor did I say they should be starters for Spurs which is obvious if you look at their age. How many defenders at that age (Pierie is 17, Zagadou 19 and Sarr is 20) are regular internationals on top level?
Who are those "a lots of top" players who, at the age of 23 haven't made a single team for the country?
Clément Lenglet, Fabián Ruiz, Malcom, Álex Grimaldo, Houssem Aouar, Mahmoud Dahoud, Diogo Jota, James Maddison all very good young players yet to appear for their national team.

Also Joachim Andersen is 22.

Anyone know who Eljif Elmas is? Linked today - 19 year old midfielder from Fenerbahce.
Nope. He's got one goal and a 57% dribble rate in the Turkish league which is *shrug*. Maybe he's one waiting to breakthrough but anytime I see "Spurs close to signing midfield" and the source is not a news outlet but rather a TV pundit I assume it's hogwash or agent trying to get some media hype.

Why are so many fans here hooked on Joachim Andersen? He's not even getting into the Danish national team (yet)
Should Toby leave - which is highly likely - then Sanchez would be the natural replacement and Foyth and Dier the understudies.
I'd rather go for a young left-footed CB - f.ex. Kik Pierie, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Malang Sarr or Lloyd Kelly (or someone else).

You said: "A lot of top players don't make in into international teams for various reasons."
Apart from maybe Malcom and Lenglet (why become a regular at Barca first this season) none of the others can be rated as "top players". At least not yet.
Andersen is turning 23 in a months time so I consider him 23.

Fellas, he's 22 until he turns 23.

Firstly, lol with regards to your last sentence.

Secondly, this is Andersen's first really good season, him not playing for the international team could be due to the manager being a knob, wanting to see if he could sustain his form, or maybe he just doesn't fit in the system (I'm not an expert on the Danish international team). Andersen ranks highly in terms of long passes completed, so it's easy to see why we're interested. You have to be incredibly simplistic to just think 'Doesn't get into international team = not good enough'

Regarding my first sentence, well, he is close to being 23 than when he turned 22 - and by the time the next season starts he'll be 23 and still without any games for Denmark.
But I know, you have a personal grudge against me for some reason and each post I make a post you play Sherlock Holmes and love to point out the minutest of faults. Which is fine for me, I am not bothered as I don't expect anything less from you

So why don't rave about those CB who are picked for Denmark?
I am talking about this case in particular and not the case of all the players - which is very evident from the conversation but yet you try to be clever and twist my words.
So, to make sure your simple mind do understand: in some cases, yes, a player may not have international matches and yet be a good player to buy for Spurs but the Danish team is not abundance of top class CB.

Thanks @Spurrific for the rating (y)

Lloyd Kelly or Ryan Sessegnon? Think we really need a young LB to begin developing for the future alongside KWP. Sessegnon younger and valuable PL experience, but Fulham are still going to ask for crazy money for him. Think Kelly offers similar upside without having to spend a lot of our budget, but I don't know if he'll end up being the same talent as Sessegnon.

What are your all's thoughts? Obviously not priority number one, but with Rose exiting his prime and Davies limping into his I think it'd be smart to plan the next man up.

I hope you're one of the Spurs chief scours in disguise  Pointing that one out is way more important than discussing potential targets...
It's an interesting observation after a break from SC for almost 3 months: I knew that you and 1-2 would play Sherlock Holmes with every one of my posts. You "guys" must really have missed me, and I am glad to get so much attention simply for counting age a bit differently than the standard way you people learned in school (y)

Kjaer and Christensen seem to be their main CBs. The former is their captain and the latter is a very good player. It's therefore easy to see why he hasn't started yet.

The 2 main things with Sessegnon are how much will he cost and does he want to be a fullback or an attacker. IMO Kelly would be a crafty bit of business, not least because he has the potential to play LCB as well.

I agree. I worry that Sessegnon has been earmarked by too many clubs (United in particular) that will inflate the price. Even if Fulham would be willing to part at a reasonable price. United's general presence may muck things up.
