That early mistake could easily have led to a goal, and unfortunately he makes at least 1 of these a game.I think there will be a transition period, but he's improving every game. He pocketed Zaha against Palace, when we were massively exposed defensively in the second half. He was also exceptional last night, one early mistake aside.
I thought that 'mistake' was caused by Goetze pulling his arm.

I'd expect a top PL CB to make one of these 1 in every 10/15 games, maybe even less than that. Don't get me wrong, he has fantastic potential and I believe he will be an excellent player, but we are a top tier team in a top tier league playing in top tier competitions and you just cant do that and expect to progress.
He’s going to be some player. Congratulations on who found him.
He is so confident on the ball and has a lot of attributes to be a really good player. Poch’s words post match are really interesting. He knows how good he is, it’s just about giving him opportunity now.
Few old boys in the crowd around me weren’t happy with him but I guess you get fans that are pretty much clueless once they’ve made their mind up on a player. Too ignorant to change it.
That’s a bit extreme. Statements like that have been said about Townsend, Carroll, Bentaleb, to name a few. He is good, don’t get me wrong. But hyperbolic future statements do tend to come back and haunt you.Could well become our best player when he has fully developed.
So be it. He is clearly a talented footballer unlike most top central defenders who whilst good at defending have in truth limited ability with the ball. That’s a bit extreme. Sanchez has had a vast amount more senior playing time though. Foyth makes mistakes, but I haven't seen anything yet that a little experience, coaching, and confidence couldn't probably fix.I think he has progressed although i do worry about the level of natural defensive mindedness he has. Sometimes when he plays it clearly shows that he used to play further up the field and thats both good and bad. He can dive in recklessly at times like he is a forward player making a silly tackle. He did well yesterday despite the 3/4 moments which could have cost us. Sanchez is a step or two above defensively for sure.
Loves to give away a pengood news: foyth started for argentina tonight
bad news: he gave away a penalty and argentina lost 3-1, to venezuela.
Loves to give away a pen
I was trying to find the thread to say the same thing
He loves a penalty this guy.
Like seriously whats up with that... its not age...
He doesnt read danger well yet because he still playing AM at 16, so for me he doesnt read danger well and then over compensates to put the problem right and commits the fouls.
I see that and get that particularly as he takes risks with and even without the ball. I just think its a pretty dangerous habit given that players and teams could target him (even moreso if he plays with Tripper on his right)
