Travel back in time about a year or so; Eriksen was the man and Sissoko was regularly lambasted. Look at 'em now!

Hasn't always been convincing, but players have put their bodies on the line when required and it's half the job done. The only repeat problem seems to be on our right side of the defensive structure, there seem to be runners getting through often and men not picked up and chances are all coming off of that. That looks the area where they might make something happen.

It would be nice to see a bit more decisiveness and sharpness when we look to counter, as we haven't had much to relieve pressure, but the last few mins of the half we finally managed to string some passes together and kill some time. Hopefully shown them the way to go in the second half.

Need to get Eriksen and winks more on the ball and keep possesion. Much better late in the half with both of them finding space.

Watching a Spanish language broadcast, what was the explanation for why the shove on Son was not reviewed by VAR? Is it actually the case that VAR was malfunctioning at the time of the incident?

Looked a lot better in the last 5-10 mins. 532 was not looking good at all. Dortmund been pressing like mad men. Verts been immense and Hugo solid.

Eriksens corners never cease to amaze me.

Son was freaking them out a bit early on the break but since he dropped back to midfield he's been pretty quiet. I wonder if he'll be let off the leash a bit more in the second half.

Have to give credit to Davies in that half too - wasn't spectacular but he did a solid job defending, intercepts and getting forward. We just need to focus a bit more when in possession.
At the same time we are now bossing possession. Chances will come with that and Kane is now further up the pitch.

If you’re watching on the BT Sports app, can recommend watching the Ajax/Madrid highlights instead of watching the pundits waffle.

Dortmund are a top football team. Im impressed with how they've picked their way through all things considered. Even more convinced with our defending tbh, think its been a very structured and regimented performance so far.

Fantastic defending so far though, moving as a unit and staying solid, like when we went away to Madrid.

Just wish we were much better with the ball at times and offered more going forward.

Well that was an excellent first half. We were always going to be under pressure tonight, they are a good side and we have played well from a very defence minded formation. Credit to Poch as well for having a word with Sonny and tweaking it making our left side less exposed. The last 10 mins was great by us, we started moving the ball a lot quicker, Winks is a great little player.

That said I think Erikson needs competition from a player after his spot, he has been poor for a few weeks now and there's no sign of it turning around.

If we can get to 85 still 3 up then I can finally unclench

Not sure we can even make a sub as you don't really want someone coming in that isn't totally in tune with the pace and pressure bvb are applying

Weathered that onslaught and finished the half much better although let's be fair, they should be a couple of goals up and we ceded far too much of the ball in midfield and the times we did have possession we squandered it far too cheaply - Eriksen and Kane the main protagonists here.

As for potential changes, Poch might go Lamela for Eriksen and bring him central to buzz around or perhaps Lucas on for Son as a like for like but I can't see him changing the shape at this stage.
