With Trippier's fitness in question at the start of the season and KWP not even made his debut at that point, there is no way we could we could chance it. We needed experienced cover.
Surely depends on how much your manager believes in you. At the end of the day as Aurier has shown any RB we were going to bring in wasn't going to be better than Walker so we were always going to be worse, off, plus the new player was always going to need an adjusting period, especially coming from abroad. So if we really rated him, I don't see why we couldn't just risk playing him, especially knowing Dier could play RB. I kind of understand it. But look at Liverpool TAA played 162 PL minutes last year not a lot which is more than the FA Cup mins given to KWP and was trusted going into this season. Klopp did exactly what I think Poch should do, tested him out in the few games he could to prepare for the next season, realised his ability and then trusted him the following season rather than buying a player to block him. Now TAA is playing in a CL semi-final.
KWP is 2 year groups above him and people are still unsure if they can trust him as one of the RBs for next season.
