It's a horrible situation he's in with his family but I still don't understand why he's still here from the clubs standpoint.

We're paying huge wages for him to do nothing at all, it's a clusterfuck really. We might as well be throwing 100k a week down the drain (or whatever it is).

it appears that he has not turned up for Internation Duty with Togo,
can he really do something like this?

Nothing will happen. He won't be used and Adebayor won't take legal action, in my opinion. He's shown that he's quite happy to be paid for nothing, so that's probably exactly what he'll do until we buy out his contract or it expires in the summer.

He's still here because we offered him ridiculous wages over the term of his contract. Nobody in their right mind would match the money he's on so he's still on our payroll. The notion of him sitting around doing f*** all for 100k a week is sickening, but he has no shame and will milk us for every penny. God only knows why we ever got involved with him but Levy made a bed which we now lie in.

Can somebody PLEASE tell me how this guy can be paid all this money without having to actually turn up and practice/play?

Isn't that grounds for breach of contract? I.e., couldn't such behavior annul us from having to pay him?!?

How could a player refuse to play and still get his wages???

I'll think you find that our great man manager who can't seem to manage men over 25 or with an opinion doesn't want to play him.

He is available to play.

Its called a contract.

The same documents that enable football clubs to sell players at profit and loss.

I want him to play!

I was saying precisely that! If he was being insubordinate surely we could recoup some of the money- so there must be something else! I'm on your side fool.

We should have given him a squad number. 666 is available. Hopefully he's not the superstitious type .

I'll ignore the insults keyboard warrior, but you wasn't saying that all.

I'll copy and paste what you wrote as you seemed to have lost the ability to know what you are actually saying:

He has at no time refused to train or made himself unavailable for selection.

My point was that if he was hiding out he would've been docked wages. FFS read my "Unpopular Opinion Amnesty" post from two weeks ago-- I said they should get him into the team post haste. I think this is a case of gross mismanagement.

If all of these family issues are true then I feel they should be deemed as extenuating circumstances, to be honest.

With all this stuff of juju and suicidal thoughts etc surely there must be something in the rules where we can cancel his contract on the grounds of mental illness?

You absolutely cannot cancel any kind of contract/terminate employment on the basis of mental health, and rightly so.
