Dont get me wrong I love beating the old enemy but for me I dont particulary hate them. In fact I can say with absolute certainty I dislike Chelsea, City (Because of how they have gone about getting their success) and Liverpool (Their delusinal fans and theyre self believing god given right they should be the best in the league) alot more than i do the woolwich wanderers
All my Arsenal friends were very gratious in defeat and Im sure like me most Spurs fans have mates who are gooners and working in the city Spurs and Arsenal fans are everywhere. It makes for a great rivalry. I would say without question the best in the league.
Both clubs have tried and trying to buid success the right way and both teams play good football.
I also like the fact their seems to be alot of good hearted banter between the players. Its nothing too nasty but does spice it up and thats a good thing. I dont understand why Walcott is so disliked by some Spurs fans for showing the score after getting absolute pelters from Spurs fans. We would all of done the same! Its human nature. I liked his comments before Saturays game saying he enjoys the atmosphere in a NLD and how its the fixture he looks forward to the most and what a tough test it is playing us.
I even quite liked those videos with the chap called Claude and the pirate looking bloke before and after the game. Nothing wrong with that.
Of course I want to beat them and it would be great to finish above them, That is a given. I just think the rivalry since around 2005 has been very healthy and great for both clubs. There is respect between the two north london giants now. From 1996 until 2005 the gap is was too big. This isnt the case anymore and there isnt much between the two teams. Cant wait until the new stadium is eventually built so we will aslo be able to compete with them off the field also.
This great old rivalry will continue to grow and grow and get better and better.
