That was a shambles, no direction, no clue, no idea, defence was awful, midfield played it around a bit, when it finally got further foorward we continued to play it around a little and added some over elaboration and on the odd occasion the ball actually got into the box for half a chance players had either gone to sleep waiting or missed the chance
Just an awful game and it wasn't as if we were giving a load of inexperienced kids a run out
Yea but we were playing most of the players we and likely poch wants rid of. And for good reason

No width, no shape and no clue right now

It is what is making me so angry...

All it is down too is 4-2-3-1 and inverted wingers...

We then play 4-4-2 have our best game, then revert back to this shit... It is an astonishing amount of ignorance to not see it is simply not working for us.

I've had a ponder and I have a conclusion/observation...
Levy may well be right! (Even I gulped at that thought)
But how can one club with so many proven (before Spurs ruined them) internationals have such a mediocre team?!
Players that have reached international level are, by definition, the best of their peers.
We must have 18 in our squad and yet they all become shit under the Spurs cockerel....Verts, Capoue, Soldado, Chicriches, Paulhino (once hailed the next best thing t come from Brazil - with a subsequent Brazillian press article venting "what have you done to him?!"), Stambouli, Dembele, Chadli, Lamela, Rose (a bad joke, but true, player of the season at Sunderland and with England caps)...all of them - simply mediocre now. Erikson - the stand out, but still played out of position etc etc...
Where can the blame lay?
It's not rocket science, and I'll cry it til my dying day - play your best players in their best positions and build a team that way - if you're missing a piece of that jigsaw....buy that piece - don't buy 6 number 10s.
Neither MoPo or AVB and their "continental one off seasons" can veer from their blinkered Inflexible systems - and frankly it is shit, shit to watch, shit to behold and shit that we are still having to witness it week in week out.
international players don't become shit over night - unless they move to Spurs - and that is A pretty fucking damning reflection and a sad reality of where we currently reside.
Mason, Lloris and Kane being the stand outs for the season?!
I wish I had the answer - but I'm pretty sure MoPo doesn't either.

Internationals for whom though? It's not like we have any players who are or have been regulars in the top national teams, except Paulinho and that's only because Scolari was a clueless idiot.

AVB excelled at ruining players, but they weren't world class before we bought them. We just didn't buy well enough. Not one of the players we bought last summer or the one before is good enough for where we want to be. Not one. That is the damning indictment.

And 3 players coming back from injury. We played a team of reserves and injured players. And that includes Soldado.
Thinking back my major disappointment was Stam. Soldado didn't disappoint me-I expect that from him unfortunately.

I'm sorry

I see no progress whatsoever

I saw a team that failed to adapt to the conditions

I see another poor manager

Sorry, but that's nonsense. Moutinho would have taken Modders' place, and I don't recall any problems playing him and VdV in the same team. There was also much to suggest that Villas-Boas forced VdV out; he favoured Sigurdsson, and VdV would no longer be an automatic first choice.

It strikes me that the real mess was made by Villas-Boas and Baldini.

That's what I am getting at. Which is where the discussion was born from, a replacement for Modric with a player that could pick a pass and retain possession. I think Modric was already on his way before AVB came in so wasn't taken into consideration and when AVB requested Moutinho, he was told he needed to further room (sell VDV)

We had already spent 15m on Dembele who was probably part of the replacement, and the non-transfer of Moutinho led to the signing of Dempsey I recall.

Despite this I do believe AVB made a hash of things, but maybe he put all of his eggs in the "Moutinho basket"

I assume this is another batch of players who can't grasp Poch's grand plan then.
I dont think anyone can...

The problem is, we dont have a single player suited to an inverted 4-2-3-1 formation... not a single player.

Highlighted with Townsend finally running all the way to the line, then turning around and running all the way back and losing the ball, because he couldn't cross with his right foot as he is naturally left footed.

Absolute joke of system, formation, team selection....

I am not saying I want Pooch gone, but fuck me he needs to sort his shit............... I am getting so agry with him, because I want him to succeed and all he is doing is fucking up............

And Levy that bald headed ****..............

BRING HARRY BACK
He is the only man who could sort these lot out
Yeah the man who is so brilliant he threw away a 10 point gap over Arsenal with best squad we have ever had in PL years...

Who rather than playing another naturally right footed winger, decide to destroy the balance of the squad to simply keep his personal favourites on, when Lennon got injured... And no, Bale was not ready at the time to play an inverted role..........

I think the for whom is pretty obvious.
Verts, Dembele and Chadli are/ were the crux of the best Belguim team seen for decades - Verts is still wanted by the CLge elite.
Soldado was a first team pick for Spain ahead of David Villa! I could go on - even the unproven internationals were supposed to be the next chapter for their national teams - Lamela, Stombouli (key to Montpeliers title) Capoue etc , they all had pedigree until we got our one season, one system managers to manage them.
