Well that info from Storts makes total sense. Suspected that we low balled them all along. That's what angered them to come out with a public act of defiance.

Liverpool and United pay a premium, if we don't we can get off the pot as far as Southampton are concerned.

Why should we get him for a knock down price particularly when you consider we took their manager.
But shinehead will be hoping that the squeeze from shiny and his agent will force them to revise their valuation. I know what's going on in that cunning, glistening crown.

Remember Berbatov's head had been turned and we sold him but ONLY after we forced a huge transfer fee for him. Would he have gone on strike if he wasnt sold? or was Fergie desperate to sign him? Then we had the saga with Moutinho. High Stakes poker. Some you win and some you lose.

Well if you actually read storts info its not Levy squeezing or fucking about its that he'll only consider paying the premium for MS if we ship a few out. Makes sense to me given we have a billion central midfielders

Storts on COYS re Schneiderlin

He's really not worth it. I'd like him to sign, but you have to look at the potential of players like Capoue (a player I've rated since before he signed for us) and ask yourself if Schneirderlin is actually worth the money they're asking for when we already have some decent midfielders to work with.

For the right price he'd be a useful signing, but once it gets to £20m+ I'd start looking at other options.

If we've bid £10m it's only about as far away from his real market value as them asking for £27m.

Somewhere in the middle would be "fair" but I doubt either party is interested in that right now.

But Saints don't care about our situation. He has a price and unless we meet it they won't play ball.

Yeah indeed.

If we sell one I'm sure we'll raise our bid for MS. But it will definitely depend on moving one on.

Down to whether Poch thinks he's worth it though, well and Levy to!

Regarding Schneiderlin: The Goat hears that we bid exactly what we were told he would be sold for. It's Southampton moving the goalposts here.

Levy likes to keep the money in the bank as long as he can to earn the maximum interest, then he will spend it last day of the season.
Correct thought pattern, but wrong conclusion. He always ends up settling the bill 5 years after the player goes into retirement anyway. :pompous:

We were always gonna have to ovepay to get him, shame we couldn't have shifted a couple CMS early before our rivals raped them and made the situation worse

It's annoying Southampton have moved the goalposts. It makes it more annoying in that they will just take that money and, if they use it, pour it into mediocre players.
