I worry about bringing in a young keeper to be No2 considering the learning curve takes place in cup competitions which I wouldn't like to risk considering I'm desperate to see us win silverware and as a GK to realise their potential they need as many games as possible as early as possible to gain vital experience, which Parks said is why Lloris is world class at the age of 27, relatively young for a GK. Therefore I fear if he were to play behind Lloris who would want to play more than 40 games a season, his ability and potential would either plateau or deteriorate and I would hate to see us ruin such a promising young GK as IMO is what's happening to Butland at Stoke.
On the chances in the cup games, if Broomfield is the one who made this selection, I think we can confidently assume he has the skillset to get it done in those games. Also, since we'd likely be going for a genuine No 1 replacement upon selling Lloris anyway, it isn't directly detrimental for the lad to see the cup games and the possibly occasional league game since he would only be competing, at most, for the No 1 spot anyway. For a 23 year old kid out of the Championship, that's a pretty damn big step up in terms of opposition going to the Europa and what we should expect due to more likely progressing further in the domestic cups than Forest. For the time being, I think it'd be perfectly sufficient.
