Can't we just merge these weekly "Sigs is shit and he once raped my soup" threads together? Maybe even sticky it. A "Gylfi is a haemorrhoid dipped in shit and turned into human form" megathread that those of a like-mind can congregate in every week.

It struck me during one of the attacking moves in the 2nd half today that Gylfi Sigurdsson just doesnt have the quality to play at this football club. He contributes nothing imo.

So it's taken you more than one entire season to work that out. If it was true that he doesn't have the quality to play at this football club, which I don't believe is the case, why did you only pick up on this today?

You say it struck you, today.

What was this move that Gylfi did or didn't do that made the OP have this revelation?

Ive been thinking Siggy wasnt all that since he got here. Now that he's on the left with a real CAM in the middle he's finally looking like he might come good. He looks much more comfortable in his current role.

I'm happy to go with AVB's team selection on this one, for 2 reasons:

(i) We're second in the league having only conceded one goal

(ii) He's a professional football manager

I like Siggy, and I like his effort. He does give us a goal threat at times, but my sense is, if Lamela had more games behind him, Siggy would have been on the bench. That left side was screaming for a left-sided player today, especially with Rose out. We're really that good now, with so many options that give us other things. He's squad, not first team for me.

I'm not sure he gives enough width at times although that's not exactly his best position out wide. He's a decent player at worst and is a definite goal threat as he has a decent shot on him. Only just tunred 24 so room to improve. Just forgot we have Lennon to come back and we've also got Nacer too. Be interesting to what we finally stick with in terms to our outside midfielders when the squad settles. Certainly have a few options.

You've got to feel sorry for the OP, one of those sad people who even when things are going well needs to look for the dark side. No doubt he started supporting Spurs in the Gerry Francis / Christian Gross and isn't handling our success well at all. Probably not to stick with one team but rotate into misery, Sunderland would be a good call right now. Misery loves company.

The rest of us are going to enjoy our results, our football and our players, so if it's all the same with you OP how about you sling your hook. Cheers

Well, nothing like hitting the woodwork, forcing a good save or setting up a good chance for Paulinho?

In the Cardiff game, Siggy limitation was bec of Naughton as I had pointed out. He was unable to cross the ball with his left foot which limited our play on the left. Other than the one long shot his contribution was muted.

But is it Siggy fault? I think it was more of AVB reluctance to change the system early which should had change the game.

Siggy has been excellent this season. Any criticism is unfounded. Has been a great goal threat, works very hard defensively and has been unlucky hitting the post and getting close misses. Having him as an option is very valuable.

Do we really need one of these "One of our players' is useless threads" after every match?

They never have any real analysis and create a crap debate focused on the moron who started the thread rather than discussing our club.

This thread has gone just how the OP planned?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Personally he isn't exactly Messi but Siggi is a great squad player and has more than contributed so far this term
