Interesting observation for you:

If the four mooted transfers (Lamela, Chiriches, Eriksen and Bale) go through for the reported prices, our net spend over this window will go back to exactly zero.

Any subsequent upgrading of BAE and/or Defoe/Ade is then likely to largely pay for itself, unless we really push the boat out.

Summer of 2011 and Modric saga didn't stop us trying to do business with Kia, so our future busiess with Barnett depends on who he has in his books. Him being agent won't stop us going after player we want.

However I don't think spurs will ever have the patience to give him this chance, and given our current levels of spending and ambition nor should we.

If he make the right move now I can see him being almost a Vdv level player in a few years and maybe he can come back home then !!

I can't think of a no. 10 who is available for us and is of the necessary quality. Eriksen works as he's young, versatile, cheap and has potential.

Rather that than panic buy and overpay with that £30 million we had made available for Willian.

Regarding Halilovic we as you know have agreed with all parties, including his family. However daddy wants more time to talk to the family as he tries to really see if he can get RM/Barca or similar in LaLiga to come to the party.
Word is nobody wants to come under his terms. Our offer stands. His club pushing for the deal to go through so they can have the much needed cash, but daddy will not be pushed. Does he have an ulterior motive? Only he knows

Do you know if he's primarily seen as being for the left of a front 3 (genuine Willian alternative), or in the CM trio (competiting for Dembele's starting spot)?

WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!

I slept yesterday night after watching AVB press conference on Bale.

Today morning, I see

i) Roma announce deal done for Lamela to Spurs
ii) Chiriches & Lamela arrive in London for medical & signing
iii) Ajax give permission to talk to us after agreeing a deal around 9m.
....
....
iv) Wenger sucking thumbs at Emirates

The thing I am so so happy about is, its not that we have signed some quality players & Arsenal havent, its the fact that we haven't overspent on anyone.

I mean Capoue at 9m, Eriksen (if we get him) at 9m, Chiriches at 7m, Paulinho at 17m, Chadli at 7m, Soldado at 26m, Lamela at 28m - every single one of them ,we have not overpaid. That's great business considering we are selling our more attractive player Bale and we don't have CL football.

Should put a smile on AVB's face after his press conference from earlier.

Will be interesting to see if Eriksen still thinks he can wait for Barca or Real kr whether he is willing to jump to us first and earn any future move.

Then we begin another round of rinsing Madrid for 100mill whilst strengthening our team in as many areas as possible. Madrid could feasibly finance our attempts at becoming a global juggernaut.
