We are going to have a scary squad this season if we get Lamela and Willian, and keep Bale. I'm sure Harry will be talking in press conferences about how much he would have loved to be backed as much soon

IF Bale did stay, with what we have (inc Willian), I can't comprehend just how possibly things could be.

Big ask to go win the title, but if Lemala, the left back involved too - I'd expect Bale to be out and out goalscorer, with no need to bring in another striker.

Imagine a line up like this...

Paulinho - Capoue

Lemala - Bale - Willian

Soldado

Thats not even considering Sandro...

I know I'm getting well ahead of myself, which I don't normally do with these things, but thought I'd enjoy it for a moment.

That is a frightening line up..

Burt on talksport.

No deal agreed for Bale.

All these deals are separate.

Bale determined to leave. It will be hard to convince him to stay.

Why the hell does he want to push a move, when we have been the most active club in the transfer window and haven't stopped? ! ? If he was content before having his head mercilessly yanked from his once happy vantage, then haven't we shown the lad enough ambition. This is the time to be at Spurs if any.

I don't necessarily buy into its this season or never, he will get plenty of offers years to come if he keeps playing touch wood. In my opinion he can certainly maintain and improve upon last season, so his stock wont fall short. I'm willing to believe he is not as unhappy as some ITKs claim he is, but I would add I bet he is feeling this unwelcomed and encumbering pressure which he has not had to this extent - and even in recent photos he looks weatherworn and older, in my opinion.

This is getting out of hand..... F-all chance of concentrating at work today.

we're legitimate title contenders in my book... with or without Bale.

We just need to somehow coax the Phantom, he must be chomping at the bit to post something surely?

Hey JJ, don't want to turn this into a Q&A, but is the TV Money included in balancing the books?

As looking at what we've currently spent and potentially going to spend, compared to income we have received in TV Money and players sold, we're looking ok if were not to sell Bale

Income

TV Money - £87m

Parker - £3m
Caulker - £8m
Huddlestone £5m

Outgoing

Paulinho - £17m
Chadli - £7m
Soldado - £28.5m
Capoue - £9m

Total Net = +£41.5m

If we were to keep Bale and get Willan, we would still be up with how much we have spent at +£11.7m

If we were to get Lamela and kept Bale, we would then have overspent and the balance -£18.2m

But, if what we believe is to be true, we would be offloading the below players:-

Ekotto - £6m
Townsend - £9m

Meaning that our net spend would be -£3.2m

Also, we still have an asset in Bale that we could sell next summer for just as high as fee.

Interesting but shouldn't you just be using net new Tv money (which I think was £40m) in your calcs as the existing contact money would have been accounted for already

If we think Bale is staying then I'm not sure if Lamela is the way we would spend the money that Lewis has given us. Surely that would be exactly the position we then wouldn't need a player?

I just think the Bale or Lamela ITK seems more likely.

Well. Then we walk in the shadow of Giants, mate (y)

I forgot Rumor Ranger. When did we switch over to Whore? I can remember SS57 having the label before the new software.

I was a rumour ranger too, but got ditched.

Shame, as the badge was worth more than the pay.

Two medicals booked for 24 hours. Bale deadline Friday. RM don't have cash down payment required unless they raise £40m. Slightly depends on Spanish banks but low chance. Modric to United? May all be too late. RM dicked around way too long trying to talk down the price rather than raise the money. THFC working to a plan all summer. Still nobody outside 2-3 people know plan for sure. Tight media management in total contrast to previous era. No comment, bluff, even false-ITK have been used to keep everybody in the dark. Anybody who thinks JL and DL haven't thought of end game risks is underestimating them.
This, to me, sounds like the shit. Rings totally true. (y)

I think we're about to have the best era in our clubs history.

Add in £6m from Dempsey, £3m from Dos Santos, and probably £5m if Ade is sold. Also Siggy and Lennon could be sell candidates if Lamela comes in and Bale stays, so that's probably another £10m they could get for either one. Overall, probably not as bad as people may think. Actually, if Bale is sold, I bet they bring a few others in like Eriksen and a CB in addition to Lamela.

There has been 16 bits of ITK today and not all posts by people have got into the RO. Is this a record for a non-transfer deadline day.
Can anyone elaborate?
