I'm pretty sure Coentrao is our main target and it's linked to the Bale transfer, if not directly, then at least in a face saving way by Real.

They don't want to be seen to sell to us whilst they are trying to buy from us so they'll drag it out as much as possible.

Of all the players we've been linked with though, I think he's our most likely signing between now and the end of the window, regardless of what happens with Bale.

I'd be massively disappointed if he went to QPR.

I think Townsend is overrated by many on here, but he's clearly better than Championship level.

I think Townsend and Tom Carroll are the two academy products that we can be genuinely excited about. Selling either two would be a massive mistake. And with Chadli, Bale and possibly Lamela to learn from - he could well become better than Bale.

If we get confirmation that Townsend is off, then surely a lamela / willian is close. prob another announce the outgoing before the incoming. Also adds more hope to bales staying IMO.

You mean something along the lines of that?? This is what i can only find from earlier today but its from a RT so dont know accurate it is.

Personally I don't agree with that at all and I still don't really see, so far, that Townsend is a top four player.

But I think that, if he's happy to stay, there's enough talent there to at least work with and see what he can accomplish.

Could be a simple case of fat fingers while thumbing through his mentions. Have a hard time believing he'd want to go to Championship after the season he's had.

Sorry but I have to object to the better than bale comment. I've seen it mentioned a few times, and no,way will this ever happen, sorry. Bale is a freak of nature and a world phenomenon, I can't see us producing another just like that.
