I am sure there will be a point in the window we would put a stop to this nonsense. There is little time for us to react if he goes on the last day.

You mean like Berba? :)

Fingers crossed you're right!

Ridiculous offer! Or GB hands in a transfer request and doesn't receive any Loyalty fees. Obviously RM would still need to offer a huge amount but slightly less than if we was also paying GB what he would be owed. Either way i'm not convinced until this transfer window closes and i see Bale wearing our beloved shirt.

At a maximum Bale's loyalty fees are likely to be about 4 - 6 million over the next 3 years so that isn't going to help Madrid much.

quite a lot of signings isn't it?

You'd think we finished 15th and were battered by all the top clubs. Rather than just missing out on top 4 thanks to a couple of dodgy games and getting to Europa QF all while missing Kaboul and Sandro for most of it and fit strikers for good chunks too.

I expect us to have a real fire sale next week, everything thing and everyone must go!
Just hope we can sign another striker who is a bit different to what we have and a lennon upgrade

We have only had 3 signings, so it is not really that many, 4 if you want to count your chickens on Capoue.

I think Levy had been thru one experience, so I hope we don't make the same mistake twice. We are also pretty thin in that position useless there is genuine activity from RM, we should be preparing for an incoming.

I give 2 weeks before window close if Madrid can cough up the money, else the money we spend only bring us another transitional year. The whole exercise becomes pointless.

He's nowhere near in terms of busy ****edness, He's not as dynamic off the ball as Sandro or as ferocious in pursuit of the tackle, but he's far more comfortable on the ball and a much better passer of the ball than Sandro.

So he would be our foot on the ball pass and move playmaker? Dembele can be excellent but still runs with the ball too much in deep areas for my liking. It slows down our build up play and he drags players with him (players will always follow someone with the ball more tenaciously than someone who lays it off and then moves into space without it).

I think Carroll should stay as one of our 6 for 3 midfield options within the squad. Maybe him, Capoue, Sandro, Paulinho, Holtby and Parker. Or if Parker goes then Sig could cover at the top of the 3 although he's still a bit powder puff (or poof if you're Kezman). I wouldn't be against Livermore staying if Hudd and Parker go as he'll sit as a bench bunny and not moan and with the right players around he's acceptable as a squad player - it's hard to keep everyone happy remember.

As for the Ade ITK from JJ I find it quite astonishing that that happened (but completely believable mods I might mention:shifty:)

What's happening this year so far is quite unprecedented from Levy especially Soldado and it doesn't look like we're finished yet...

It can if it knocks £6 million off the asking price.
It will still need to be a huge offer from RM.

Jasper's ITK about Bale is positive. Jasper is a highly respected ITK isn't he? His name seems to have been around for a while. Sure I remember him from almost ten years ago, when I started posting here?

If Bale was gonna hand in a transfer request, he would have said something publicly by now, about his disire to leave

Yeah because Harry didn't think before he spoke... I would rather Levy broke his silence and made a statement. Difference would be that this statement wouldn't be off the cuff and possibly misconstrued.

..........and I get that but say Levy/the club comes out and makes a statement saying he's not for sale and then come the end of the window he's gone, how would that make us look as a club?

PS...why have a got a goat telling me to read the rules? Have I said something that breaks the rules?

I am counting 4 indeed, and i'm expecting 5 by september 3rd.

ITK (think it was JJ?) has said we were due 3 quality 'in's' so by my reckoning we may be due at least 1 more (Soldado & Capoue being the 2 others).

Maybe a utility defender or another forward? then we can concentrate on selling the players we all know we no longer need to re-coup some funds.

good times!

If we want 100 million, getting him for 94 million won't really change the viability of a deal much. Also we may just stick to asking for 100 million and think we are quids in.

I don't think that Capoue will be included in those other two. JJ's comments at the time made it sound like two from Madrid e.g. Morata and Coentrao.

Do you think Madrid would sell to us now though? Special relationship my arse!

Not exactly pass and move in the Modric, Moutinho sense Steve. Think more Carrick playing in the deep role, but he will also stride forward occasionally and get on the end of moves too. There are shades of Viera and even Petit to his game, in that he will sit centrally protecting his defence, win the ball then look to start a move and sometimes drive through and get on the end of things.

I think he'll find it harder to dominate games in the EPL, and adjust to the pace and tempo, but I've seen him dominate games in Ligue 1 and Toulouse play a possession game, so he is well schooled in possession football.
