What exactly is new about Jasper's latest? Unless you've been reading an awful lot into the grand total of ZERO statements from the club and Bale, it's always been "make us a ridiculous offer or he stays."

Not if it cost 6m!

Can I just say that I guessed at a figure for Bale's loyalty bonus of between 4-6 million based on others saying his loyalty bonus could be up to 2 million per year, rather than knowing. So please don't take that as any sort of info.

We get a respected ITK reinforcing what others have been saying about Bale, and you're bitching about it?

Nice work.

so you'd be fine with selling bale on the last day of the window then?
No I wouldn't be 'fine' per se if we sold him last minute but if Madrid completely buckled and offered us stupid amounts on favourable payment terms then he's sold, simple as.

That's relative to every single player, not just Bale.

NOT going to happen. Daniel Levy's words after the Berbatov/Frazier Campbell nonsense,

"We failed because we were not as decisive or as successful in identifying or replacing the two strikers as early as we should have been." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/oct/26/tottenham-portsmouth-levy-berbatov-ramos-redknapp

Never seen Levy admit to a mistake before, or since, so no way is that going to happen again, in my opinion.

Well that was a ball's up in our poor recruitment process all summer long but it reaffirms the point I previously made that every player has a price and if we are reluctant to sell as was the case with Berbatov, Modric and Carrick, we got very good value for each of them and Utd and Madrid played to our tune.

If Bale is going to leave then judging by the ITK I can see Toby, Coentrao, Morata and I think we'll go for Eriksen.

Absolutely, Levy is outstanding at getting not only maximum value for a player, but even more than that. £2m is what Carrick cost us, sold for almost £19m just 2 years later. Unbelievable business!! Same for Berbatov, too. The point I was trying to make, is that there's no way such an occurance (as the Berbatov/Campbell thing) is going to happen again, unless we've got a replacement for Bale in beforehand, which, as far as I can see, we most certainly haven't. Therefore, by sheer association, Bale is not going to be sold any time soon (y)

Can I just put a huge disclaimer saying I DON'T WANT BALE SOLD!

I also think for all the other players mentioned like Lamela, Willian, Bernard et al, none of them are in Bale's league and I think some people are forgetting just how bloody brilliant Bale is and how I truly feel he'll go from strength to strength despite idiots in the media claiming he won't ever have a season as good as he just has.

quite a lot of signings isn't it?

You'd think we finished 15th and were battered by all the top clubs. Rather than just missing out on top 4 thanks to a couple of dodgy games and getting to Europa QF all while missing Kaboul and Sandro for most of it and fit strikers for good chunks too.

I expect us to have a real fire sale next week, everything thing and everyone must go!
Just hope we can sign another striker who is a bit different to what we have and a lennon upgrade

If you include Holtby who arrived in January, that's half the outfield players added to (or replaced). If this still doesn't make Bale realise that the Club are bending over backwards to provide him with a CL future, then with respects to the Welsh wizard then he can fuck right off.

Cannot dispute Levy is brilliant at what he does....however...... *glances sadly at empty trophy cabinet*

There is keep mention of Alderweireld. Trust me, not good enough for Tottenham.

And if you disagree then explain. There were many better defenders in than him last season.

When the day comes that Overlord Dwarf-Commander Levy moves on, his special orthotic shoe will take pride of place in said cabinet - It will be the first shrine and site of pilgrimage for the BSoDL. :angelic:

I imagine it would be his fabled wallet instead of his shoe

Has any ITK mentioned what injury Holtby or Dawson has?

I've seen no information on this.

Yeah and there's what, 16 or so sets of supporters of other PL clubs doing exactly the same thing? We have means, we have to live within them & there's not much we can do about it. We have something like the 10th biggest ground in the PL? Yet there we are, competing with clubs with massively bigger budgets than us and have spent cash as though it's going out of fashion.

Apart from the odd run of fortune & good luck, like Portsmouth & Swansea in the FA Cup and Birmingham in the League Cup, who else outside of Man Utd, Chel$ki & Man Citeh, has won anything over the last decade or so? We're actually in that small elite group of other clubs, via our Carling Cup win in 2008.

I can't remember who posted this (apologies to whoever you are), but I saved a post from here the other week & it shows us just how much Levy/ENIC have done to progress our great club..

"Before ENIC bought our club in 2001:

2000: 12th place
1999: 10th place
1998: 11th place
1997: 14th place
1996: 10th place
1995: 8th place
1994: 7th place!
1993: 15th place
1992: 8th place
1991: 15th place
1990: 10th place

Oh yes, I remember the glory days before ENIC, when the mighty THFC struck fear into all their opponents and never sold anyone. Bore off with that nonsense. "(n)

Those trophies are not far away mate and, IF the ITK about Bale staying (selectively opting to ignore JJ for now lol), I reckon the first one could even come in this season (y)
