Let's hear White Hart Lane in full voice tomo. Bale to stay, new signings to be welcomed and the mighty Spurs to cheer on.

I'm not worried about Bale going to RM any more. I think it's becoming obvious that they don't have the money (or at least not in the way that would be attractive to Levy). I'm more worried that some other club might step into the breach and make a genuinely tempting offer. There's plenty of billionaires out there ... :cautious:

Yep but that would be dependent upon Bale wanting to go there. He's only spoken about wanting to play for Madrid one day, so the likes of PSG, Monaco, Oligarch FC etc etc, would just be wasting their time by trying to sign him.

Nice bit of EyeTeeKay I reckon?

Never heard of this Kapow! fellow, but you guys have convinced me he's a good'un (you wouldn't lie to me, right?).

Also nice to get more suggestions we're not bending over for RM, I've fully stuck to my guns the whole way and have laid money down with some of the biggest winder-uppers, tenner with a Forest supporter at work who's been giving it "he's gone and you'll be relegated" for like, two weeks now. Can't wait to take that guys money.

When do we get a stamp for Capoue? When the OS has confirmed it?

Ooh, I'm so excited. Never seen so many stamps before!

Right, the rules pop up has been reactivated. I strongly suggest you actually read them this time as dismissing the notification is you telling us that you have done so and saying 'I didn't know' isn't going to get you very far.

It amazes me me that some people still don't get the nature of ITK. And those that have the biggest problem with it are the ones that complain the loudest when they lose their access. Go figure.

Phew, I thought I was being victimised, and couldn't think of what I'd actually done wrong!!

Good news to reopen the daily thread to! My only concern now re: Bale, is the injury and Wales selection. Think he's more likely to stay now than, say, a week ago.

From the little I have read recently about the state of the finances in Spanish football, I cling to the belief that there is just no way RM can afford it, or justify that amount of spend.. If the bank fronted it, as the past intimates, then surely Merkel and the gang would be down on them faster than a really fast thing.

Sorry I know this isn't really relevant, but I just had the funniest image of Angela Merkel fronting Kool and the gang.

Jasper on SO re Bale

Ridiculous offer! Or GB hands in a transfer request and doesn't receive any Loyalty fees. Obviously RM would still need to offer a huge amount but slightly less than if we was also paying GB what he would be owed. Either way i'm not convinced until this transfer window closes and i see Bale wearing our beloved shirt.

He is from what I've seen

I only ask cos I know some ITK'S get financial info, or sponser info, where as other get player info. Couldn't remember his forte as it were.

I'm clinging on to Jaspers words. I'm feeling more confident about bale staying now.

Waits for JJ to spoil my optimism :)

Real and Barça are the reason that Spanish football finances are like they are. They have either individual TV deals or bargained with one another to get wheelbarrows full of money whilst the rest of the league have to pick up the scraps.

Truth of the matter is that Real don't have the readies to pay the percentage of the fee that Levy would want (It'd be at least 60% up front if I was doing the negotiating) but there is potential for a murky sponsor financing the buying of the player (probably adidas) because of the massive advertising value that he would represent to them, they'd be able to move Casillas off as the figurehead of the Adidas/Real Madrid marketing effort and stick Bale there in the full kit, wearing the boots and all that (which they cannot do with Cristiano).

quite a lot of signings isn't it?

You'd think we finished 15th and were battered by all the top clubs. Rather than just missing out on top 4 thanks to a couple of dodgy games and getting to Europa QF all while missing Kaboul and Sandro for most of it and fit strikers for good chunks too.

I expect us to have a real fire sale next week, everything thing and everyone must go!
Just hope we can sign another striker who is a bit different to what we have and a lennon upgrade

I am sure there will be a point in the window we would put a stop to this nonsense. There is little time for us to react if he goes on the last day.

Make our last couple of signings and then let everyone know what the final squad will be well in advance. Would they be queuing up at the door ready to leave though?
