Would we go back for that young Croatian defender now that we have a squad place free? Or isn't he ready for the first team squad?
dawson > caulker in terms of a defender. in 2 years dawson can play the gallas role and some one new can come in as the 123 choice. thats the ideal transition. caulker on the other hand hasnt shown the potential to be a first choice (aka king at 21 was already a different class, varane etc). he may very well become a 2/3rd choice thats easily replaceable under 10mil(eg vert 1st choice, ajax captain, developed, under 10). i rather take the 8.5 now
What on earth makes you think England are going to the World Cup......Re: Caulker.
Near in mind it's a World Cup year. Given that the England CB's are no longer nailed on like they used to be, it's fair to say that he has a decent chance of going there.
It may be a little short-sighted, but could understand why he might want to be a regular starter this season.
I suspect if we offered £10m for someone of Caulkers standing and agreed to a buy back clause we'd complete pretty quickly tooCaulker gone... SO within one day we wrap up a sale! BOOM done........ How come it takes so fucking long to buy someone?!
I hope we have a suitable replacement because relying on Kaboul + Vertonghen being/remaining fit would befit errors of transfer windows past.
Sorry but I really dont agree.Caulker for me is a better defender than Dawson and has even more potential. Avb was happy to sell dawson last season rather than caulker.i think caulker simply wants to play. And anyway rather than one or the other I think we needed both for the start of the season.
we really are lacking in options is the only think that concerns me. Decent money for caulker but couldnt we make cardiff wait till we got a replacement.
You've just coined a new phrase, "To cost a Bale".He sure did,
didnt cost a bale though.

I'd like to buy a new Mercedes, but it would cost a Bale.
I would like to note there are no guarentees in kaboul still very much a waiting game.
just to note milos veljkovic our serb/swiss cb will come into the fold this season. He is currently at the under 20 world cup. Missed his place on the bench against united this season because the club sent a driver to the wrong address twice by the time he made it to the ground it was too late. Vertonghen was named on the bench despite not being there!
as for monaco all of you aspiring defenders dust your boots off daws needs a partner

Let's worry about losing Caulker once we see who is signed to replace him.
70 pages?!? Jesus.
Have we signed someone?
Time for Baldini to step up.Let's worry about losing Caulker once we see who is signed to replace him.
I think the concern is because we shouldn't have been selling him without having signed a replacement first. Obviously if we replace him sensibly then that's fine, particularly with the price we've got for him, but at the moment we have one fit centre back and that is ridiculous.
