Some v mixed ITK, both Ryantegan and Atlanta seem to suggest big money to spend, JJ and Yideo sticking the brakes on and stating we have a limited budget (though what limited is I don't know).

Levy is a shrewd operator so I guess no one really knows the budget. If a club smells money and the fact we want a striker the price goes up, so I hope we have a few irons in the fire, but it would good to commit to one.

Very much doubt we'll spend more than 50m net this Summer including money already spent on Paulinho.

Still don't see us bringing in a striker this week. To get things done quickly we'd have to pay upfront/over the top and I just don't see us doing that.

I think we'll sign a striker but not necessarily soon.

this is my interpretation: 50M (as suggested by Atlanta Yid) is the sum amount at most we can spend (with or without Paulinho's deal), and this is not incompatible with what JJ and Yideo say - A sum amount of 50M is not that big (but not small as well), and we are still sticking the brakes on, and we are not under real pressure to spend all this 50M

If anyones interested jonathan barnett is friends with daniel levy. We will not be stitched up. :)

Jonathan Barnett will do whatever makes him and his business the most money. Daniel Levy will do whatever makes him and Spurs the most money (or successful). Business 101.

If they're good business people then they'll know and respect that in each other and leave their friendships to be unaffected by their dealings.

If DL could do deals for say Soldado and Bernard similar to the Paulinho deal our total spend would be in the region if £50m.

Agree. I'm pretty sure I saw a table of what clubs paid out to agents and we were quite near the top.

http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/...mier-league-release-agents-fees-nov-2012.html

We paid out £6.6 million, only QPR, Man City and Liverpool paid out more.

One day we may have a chairman who understands the concept of strikers in football and the concept of goals in football, marry the two together and get us a decent goal scorer, in my nearly 40yrs of supporting Spurs I can count count on one hand the number of top quality finishers we've had, not many at all!!!!!
