I had a drink with Freund once three or four years ago and I made him recollected a lot about his playing days with us. Fantastic guy.

I find these cheerleader remarks about him a bit misguided. It's a bit like the old clipboard ones for Hughton, who is now one of the most highly rated coaches around.

I don't think the cheerleader comments are meant to be too disparaging. I'm sure he's a fantastic coach, it's just that I suspect a lot of people consider him to be the passionate and enthusiastic member of our staff. For me that's a huge role to play, as he embodies the genuine love of our club in a way that helps represents the feelings of the fans, and hopefully that conveys to the players that this isn't necessarily just a job, but something that means so much to a lot of people.

Freund is a very smart highly-regarded young coach. He will succeed AVB in the top job one day IMO.

I hope so.

Would be great if he was there to learn the job, just incase AVB leaves and if he doesn't we get Freunds love and enthusiasm rubbing off on everyone else, thus creating brilliant team spirit until he does become manager.

No worries, thanks for clarifying.

IIRC Chris Ramsey asked Levy to grant AVB an interview for the managerial position. Levy was reluctant to hire him after his Chelsea affair but AVB smashed the interview. The rest, as they say, is history.

Did some further reading on Look Like Modric's posts on JA606, here's some further tidbits:
If accurate, it would probably be a good thing if Sherwood gets the Brighton job

Nice one Berglad, I couldn't be arsed to keep at it!

I'm amazed that there's been an ITK operating that no-one on here seemed to know about til today when he spectacularly blew his cover with that job rundown.

Not wishing to rock the boat, but doesn't having a large debt usually reduce the amount you have to spend?

Yes and No,

what if that debt was there to help you spend each trans windown, then you pay it off during the season as income rolls in?

Like your rent/mortgage - as long as you pay off the repayment each month, you're free to play with the rest. Same repeats itself. The debt is there for a reason (like a mortgage is for a house), doesn't mean you're not financially viable

I was under the impression that Levy had his eye on AVB,even before he took the Chelsea job....i could be wrong.

Well even if he is. There is nothing wrong with trying to rebuild yourself. It's turned me from a combative turd into a fairly positive and genial poster - after a few false-starts.

Couldn't agree more, shame I'm just a complete **** really, there's no hope for me.

Dempsey has been given stick by a lot of people, me included, I think we can do better than Dempsey but I have to give the guy his props, he cost 5 million and he scored 7 goals, third highest scorer at the club and he's a midfielder. Bent I think was treated very unfairly by the fans, in his last season at the club he finished top scorer at the club. So on the face of it not too shabby at all.

He's not a midfielder in any sense of the word that I comprehend. No midfielder I know is that uncomfortable with a ball at his feet. And I've seen some duffers in my time in a spurs shirt.

The point with Bent and Bentley was that neither were very good matches for the other players we had and neither were value. They made bad sense economically and footballing...ly.
