Getouttahere...are you really telling me we only stopped matching the highest wage paying teams in the league once they starting paying over £100,000 PW?

I do remember a time when Klinsmann was the highest paid player in the league, on £25k per week...

But no, all I'm saying is that we're unlikely to be able to afford the sort of 'world stars' that Villa, Ardiles and Klinsmann were when they joined us... as sad as that may be to us, the fans, having experienced the thrill of it in the past.

Won't stop us dreaming though, and rightly so!

Yeah...but I don;t think the idea was that they were going to take us back to the days of signing players on extremely high wages. I think the meaning was that they would take us back to the days of making the type of signings to genuinely arouse excitment, and stir the imagination.

Nowadays the two sort of go hand in hand, but I guess this transfer window will tell.

My imagination was certainly not stirred by Ryan Nelsen or Louis Saha, that's for sure! :)

Harry; if the club think I'm worth it they'll extend. If they don't, they won't. Never been to Qatar in my life. Up to the chairman to extend if he wants.

Straight from the horses mouth on SSN. Can't get more ITK thank that.

Putting pressure on Levy saying 'if a managers only got one years contract it creates uncertainty in the players' and if they think I'm the man to take this club forward they'll give me a new contract or they'll let my contract run out'

and that is the problem.

Harry is still wanting the 4 year deal that he turned down 3 months back. The offer has gone.

Its like asking the banker on Deal or no Deal for the offer 3 rounds ago, just because you just picked 3 big red boxes

Yeah clearly putting pressure on Levy publicly now to give him a new deal or things will go to shit next season.

I don't understand why he expects loyalty when he wouldn't stop talking about the England job a few months ago.

On top of that the Chairman and club stood by him during his heart op and tax trial, now he is insinuating he should get a new deal. It's not like he isn't on one of the league's top contracts and with a year to go, at the end of which he could have another top job in this country with his reputation.

Why are things always such a mess in the summer!

One way or another it's needs sorting and quick many more interviews like that and I'm gonna take more and more of a dislike to the man, at one point he said Tottenham then corrected it to we, doesn't seem he's really brought into the club more worried about what's in it for him

My first thought when I saw this is that Harry just got himself fired. Not now. Levy is probably busy with his mother's death. But he will hear about this and I don't see him as the kind of man to take this lightly. Might be wrong, but I don't think I am.

You just shut you pie-hole for a few days while the boss deals with a death in the family. It's not rocket science.

our age profile is false, our older players galas, nelson, saha are not first team regulars like lampard terry and drogba or schools evra and giggs for example plus freodel skews it.
still not sure what's going on but as i posted a could of weeks ago something is happening and i'm very optimistic, if Vertonghen is all that's happening we'd have gone public by now.
