Compairing goal stats between this season and last, our current crop of strikers are on the same par as a Beachball !!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to compare the leagues though, Cole 40 in the Premiership is the equivalent of 70 in Portugal as the Portuguese league is so shit bar 3 teams, the teams bar Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon would barely scrape into our Championship, most are League 1 standard so Cole's stats in a world class league are better overall

Hulk has only started playing central this season and he currently has 19 goals in 17 games. Before this he had been shoved out wide

Why's that? I'm not massive fans of either of those two, but i'd say that hey are probably both upgrades on Jenas IMO.

Not because I wouldn't be happy to get them in, but that the club hasn't done enough to sign a player in the one position we are desperate for.

I'd be happy now if we just sign some striker that half of us have never heard of, At least it would be a nice surprise if he turned out to be a right gem of a transfer, Someone from Germany, Serbia, heck even Montenegro! Nobody expensive but just one that goes completely under the radar that you see some times, Like Wigan did with Palacios and Rodallega.
Maybe Beckham can recommend a couple of his mates from Galaxy.

Or maybe Woody Harrelson. Whaddaya say?

Villa wont sell Young, this window anyway, and I cant see it being Diarra.

Keane will go to Hammers...then I could see Harry using money raised from Jenas to buy Parker.

Keane and Jenas out...Parker in.

That will be it...put my ball bag on it.

Funny thing is I think Rodallega would do well for us

I wonder if Harry doesn't want to spend big on someone like Suarez because he knows we won't be getting top 4 this year. When we end up finishing fifth he'll turn around and say, as he has done many times this season, 'How are we meant to compete with Chelsea and City blah, blah, blah'.

That excuse wouldn't wash if we spent £22m on Suarez or Hulk.

Sounds to me like Diarra or Parker, with Jenas out. Which strikes me as the most depressingly stupid news ever.

i wud be delighted for one.. pissed off we did not sign striker but after striker position we def need someone in place of jenas who is a total joke of a player. we wud improve greatly with either diarra or parker. end of.

I just can't see Jenas leaving. The guy spouts off in the Standard every Friday about how happy he is at Spurs and doesn't want to leave.

Even if the club accepted an offer, I'd be doubtful whether he would agree terms IMO.

Yes all other leagues apart from prem, la liga and serie a are shit, we've all heard this cliche before.

You know what else is shit, half of Porto's team. So he has to score these goals despite a lack of quality service.

But stats are only a small part of a story, Hulk is on the rise as a player and is starting to really hit some form. Cole is static and has been for at least 3 or 4 seasons now.

How can anyone, even a football manager, know what the league placing is going to be at the end of the season? There are too many variables.

all the talk of moving to next level

all the talk of levy willing to sign big big name

all the talk of club saying they can afford to bid big

all the talk of harry saying whether he is sure of player or not in bidding big

all the talk of spurs been frawned upon as also rans and 5th place at best nonsense

all the talk of if buts and maybe's can be dissolved with one Name

TORRES

WHAT WE WAITING FOR?

hmm..maybe because

1. He'd cost £50m
2. His wages are far and away more than we could afford
3. Liverpool would never sell him to us in a million years
4. He wouldn't want to come to us
5. Chelsea can offer him everything we can and more

Thankfully, however, those are all minor hinderances. I have no doubt Levy will wake up tomorrow morning, climb aboard his gold-plated rocketship and fly up to Liverpool to woo Torres with tales of the fabled 'Tottingham Hotspurs' where hairbands grow on trees and women part their legs as a form of greeting.
