You Tube clips are pointless tbf, I am sure Carlton Cole would look a world beater on You Tube if his best moments were put together and the other 99.9% of his career left out

Maybe, probably not though.

How about some stats:

Hulk @ Porto
106 appearances - 46 goals - 31 assists

Cole @ Wham
151 appearances - 40 goals - 17 assists

Yes but there are only a handful of these in the world and none have been linked to us this window.

I'd say there are probably 20 or so of these players around, of which at least half are available at the right price.

I'm not going to clog up the thread with a list of names, but there are at least 4 Brazilian players i can think of, plus another half dozen South Americans. Then there's the rest of the worlds players to look at too obviously.

haha in the Gio link the Dnipro chief executive says the deal is "70%" done...what does that mean??

Anelka to us if Chelsea get Torres seems like a decent shout. He fits the target model we've been seeing of experienced and proven in the prem. Would be a similar to getting Fabiano but with much less risk. I'd far prefer Drogs to Madrid and Benzema to us though!

Don't be daft. We might sell Keane, but if we haven't got anyone else coming in we definitely won't sell Pav.

Nothing to worry about though. All we would have done is make it very clear that the club don't want Pav, and that we expect him to make an effort for us for the rest of the season...despite the fact that the only reason he's still with us is because, despite our best efforts, we couldn't get anyone better to replace him.

:-|

So a bit less effort from him than normal then? (if that's possible!)

when rooney put transfer in to leave harry was quoted as saying if it was true we wud have to be interested for sure.. why should that not be case now with torres with all stuff about us still needing a striker. sell pav and use all that on his wages is what i say.. people on here babbling on about ambition so why not go for him...really dont see why not

Pav + 30m? Could get them interested. They will prob want to sell abroad though if they can. Minute chance, but with the funds in place unlike many we may as well at least try.

Pav is staying with the club. Keane was offered to West Ham straight swap for Parker. Not the 2million plus Keane as reported by the Guardian. West Ham playing the waiting game and are happy to let the clock run down and try and get him on an initial loan deal. Expect this one to go to deadline day. Blackpool interested in O'Hara. He will move to them on loan if Adam is sold. Villa have put in a bid for Jenas. Harry keen to swap him for Young but we have a shortage of 'fit' centre mids at the moment. Hulk not happening. Neither is Forlan. We tried for Fabiano on loan but were rejected by Sevilla who wanted 15 million for a permanent deal. Enquired for Diarra and have been quoted 18 million. By the end of the deadline we should have 1 in and 1 out (permanent deals) and 1 or 2 loans out.
The one in being?

well thats whats im talking about.. player to solve problem is staring us all in the face and what we do.. maon that we wont and cant pay fucking wages and fee..

itk all summer and this window saying levy wants to do this and that,, shit loads of moneyy available... talk is cheap.. its times tottenham did something about that..

Very few clubs in world football could pay his fee and wages!

We're currently 5th in the league and in the last 16 of the Champions League. We're hardly in crisis!

Liverpool FC have confirmed that Fernando Torres has on Friday evening submitted a transfer request. The request has been rejected.

The Club said in a statement: "Fernando Torres tonight submitted a written transfer request, which has been rejected by Liverpool.

"Fernando is under long-term contract and the Club expect him to honour the commitment he made to Liverpool FC and its supporters when he signed the agreement."

I wonder what Roy Hodgson thinks about Liverpool honouring their commitments.

Thanks for posting CorlukaModric. Much appreciated, even if it is incredibly depressing.

1 in? Who would that be as all the strikers you mentioned and who we seemed to be actively tracking all window will not come to fruition (if I've summised correctly from your and Peanut's info?).

This is all too depressing.

So basically we arnt signing a striker...I wonder who the one in is going to be then?, not likley going to be Parker, Diarra or Young.

A productive window allround

You have to compare the leagues though, Cole 40 in the Premiership is the equivalent of 70 in Portugal as the Portuguese league is so shit bar 3 teams, the teams bar Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon would barely scrape into our Championship, most are League 1 standard so Cole's stats in a world class league are better overall

I'd be happy now if we just sign some striker that half of us have never heard of, At least it would be a nice surprise if he turned out to be a right gem of a transfer, Someone from Germany, Serbia, heck even Montenegro! Nobody expensive but just one that goes completely under the radar that you see some times, Like Wigan did with Palacios and Rodallega.
