This question has cropped up a couple of times and it always causes me problems. On the one hand, it's impossible to deny how great a player he is. But then I consider the effect he would have on the dressing room and the not insignificant way he behaved to get his move to Man U.

In all honesty, I don't see him coming back to us anyway, regardless of whether we were interested or not. I don't see him as the type to admit his mistake and slink back with his tail between his legs.

I think we'll pull a couple of surprises out of the bag.

No need for Glenn Johnson as some have mentioned. Kaboul looks more than capable of filling in there.

After we beat Burnley and qualify for the CL without the prelim, we'll no doubt be looking to strengthen the squad - so what would you do if you had the power of Arry?

I wouldnt do a great deal of selling unless anyone wants to leave, I'd let O'Hara go as Sandro is coming in and be tempted to upgrade on BAE. Also a top quality replacement for Hutton - perhaps a cheeky bid for Glen Johnson?

I'd also do everything I could to get Gudjohnsen to stay.
Go dig a hole and lie in it you retarded chimp.

BAE has been one of, if not, THE most consistent player for us this season. Not to mention you raise this dumb ass post on the back of a really good show by BAE today.

You really make me wonder sir, you really do.

We need a few experienced players who have played in the Champions League.

Darijo Srna, Marcos Senna, Luis Fabiano and a backup keeper.

PS - Berbatov no, but Carrick maybe

Cant believe people are suggesting a right back. Corluka is a solid right back and Kaboul has been one of our top performers in recent games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City.

a top class number 9 and maybe a CM

I'd have to go with who I said before, Edin Dzeko. Or Stefan Keissling from Leverkusen.

I think we'd have a real chance of getting Dzeko, though Wolfsburg did value him at around 40 million Euro, that would have to come down by half

Why are some of you asking for a right back??

Corluka, Kaboul, Walker and Naughton not enough??

Gotta agree with Dynamo here, BAE is a seriously good LB, and I seriously doubt we could ever find an upgrade on him

Bit more of Dzeko, gotta be a top target for most big clubs surely?

I've watched alot of Bundesliga games this season and seen all of his goals and the guy is a proper number 9 without a doubt.

To be honest, a few weeks ago I would have said get rid of Jenas and O'Hara and bring in Sandro plus one more CM. However I think Luka has proved he can play there so with Hudd, Sandro, Wilson and Luka we should be ok.

If Bale is going to play LW we need a decent backup/competition for BAE.

If Luka is going to be playing CM then we need backup/competition for Bale and I would go for either Joe Cole or Ashley Young.

I would also get rid of bentley and bring in another RW.

I don't think we will need another CB if Kaboul stays.

We also need to do something with the forward line, probably get rid of Pav and Keane and bring in a top quality striker.

Then it is just a backup keeper.

All in all I would say we need a LB, LW, RW, ST and GK

srna, a cm and a top class cf. luis fabiano?

edit: bae is top quality, never exposed this season and shows quality touches. we need a backup, not an upgrade unless you want to spend 20 mil on a fullback.

A slighty drunken but quiet honest response = have faith. Improve the squad with who ever's available at a decent price ie Richards. However, the lads who got us here dont deserve to be undermined by us buying players to replace them. Have faith in them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Keep Bentley and get a Santa-Cruz-esque striker (or Santa-Cruz himself).
Isn't the idea that Walker/Naughton are our right-backs of the future.
Sell a bit of dead wood (would be happy to keep JJ, personally), and give youth it's head, as we have an excellent young and improving squad.
And one real marquee signing:

We should still be looking for upgrades....but I don't mean wholesale changes.

Despite how well we've done, we still had some poor loses against the rubbish teams and were not leagues above Man C or Villa.

Back up GK is a must - someone like Lewis/the previous young keepers we've been linked with.

I personally think BAE has a tendancy to go AWOL.... how about the converted left back N'Zogbia?

If Woodgate is finished... maybe take a punt on Kjaer?

Pacey cover/experienced cover for Lennon/Bale.

If Jenas and/or O'Hara are to leave, another experienced centre mid would be welcome, especially with the amount of games were likely to play next season.

Upfront... our strikers are way too hit and miss.... Dzeko, definately and a pacey forward... maybe a cheeky bid for Agbonlahor. Ditch Keane and Crouch with the assumption that Gudjohnsen goes back to Monaco.

A prolific striker who can take more of the many chances that we create, JD is good but he's not accurate enough imo. Too many wasted attempts.

Keane, Jenas, Hutton, O'Hara, Giovani, Taarabt, those 6 out gives us over 25m I reckon. Invest all of that in a top quality number 9 (with some of our own cash if necessary), someone who can both play with a partner or lead the line on his own. Who? I know not.

A new back up goalie would be nice too, and a bright young left back to play Ekotto's reserve.

GKGomes NewGK Cudicini
RB Kaboul Corluka
CB Dawson Woodgate
CB King Bassong
LB Ekotto NewLB
RW Lennon Bentley
CM Modric Palacios
LW Huddlestone Sandro
CM Bale Kranjcar
CF Defoe Pavlyuchenko
CF New#9 Crouch

with Rose and Naughton as good, versatile young players making up the final two slots of our allocated 25. This leaves us with a squad of 2 for each position, not too much tinkering with a successful side, and several versatile players who can play 2 or 3 positions.
