Unless I've missed something, who has commented other than Trix? And even Trix said he wasn't even sure Carrasco was still being looked at.
Just came to post to say there was truth in this and we are long term admirers but seen it's already been confirmed.

It's difficult to say. He was the name I'd heard we were looking at if a certain player left, so the possible 3rd player I'd mentioned. Not sure that's a goer right now, so have no idea if Carrasco is even still being looked at.

As you say he's quite versatile so that could have a bearing on things.

Would still like a HG player in though so things could still land anywhere tbh.

One thing that's very clear anyway from our links to Traore, Zaniolo, Zaha, Saint-Maximin and even Dan James is that Conte/Paratici are targeting a player that brings elite progressive dribbling.

All these players are basically top percentile when it comes to progressive dribbles and more importantly even for 'SCA Dribbles' (Shot Creating Action's from dribbles).

I think everyone on SC at first, myself included, were hoping for a creative spark like a Maddison or Eriksen that has elite final third passing i.e. 'SCA Passing' (Shot Creating Action's from passes). But ultimately both type players achieve the exact same thing on the pitch, just through different ways.

Conte/Paratici obviously believes that SCA's from dribbles are a far more efficient way of creating goal chance's in his system. And thus we have to accept that we'll be getting an 'Adama' type player over an 'Eriksen' type.

And with that said, can anyone think of a super efficient dribbler abroad that qualifies for homegrown in the PL? ?
Because I think that will give us the answer to Trix's tip off. Is Arnaut Danjuma homegrown from his Bournemouth days?

we’ve probably accepted there isn’t a homegrown option that really works in that position, if keeping Tanganga around

Don't think he qualifies as home grown. Have to have played three seasons for an FA affiliated club before age 21. Danjuma is currently 25 and signed for Bournemouth in 2019.

Would love Carrasco but don't think it will happen. I wonder if we shot are bolt to early with the signings (no criticism on the early business) but what if we have left ourselves short of funds thinking that we would be selling players who have just went on loan and now we are scrambling about looking for loans or a cheap signing.
I think the way Chavs, utd and even forest have fucked the transfer market up big time. Don't think there will be to many bargains going this year because of the way some English clubs are going about their business.

Undoubtedly has to be first choice if for no other reason than his ability to cover multiple positions. Would also be an upgrade to Lucas at RW, hope we get him but can't see it happening to be honest. Fingers crossed though!

You could put that down to just coming back from injury, or not looking to get injured when a transfer might happen.
We all know first hand what he's capable of in regards to causing chaos, not doing that in one game against us doesn't change that fact.
The great Jan Vertonghen said he was the most difficult opponent he's ever played against.
Yup.. imagine him attacking the right when we play arsenal… the space Zinchenko leaves he would cause absolute carnage

A lot of negativity all over social media concerning our potential interest in Carrasco, it was the same when we announced signing Kulusevski and Bentancur and look what happened there, whoever we sign it will be a player that Conte has agreed to and he hasn't done too bad so far.

during the game last night the co-commentator mentioned that there had been interest in him leaving - he felt it was unlikely after the sale of the lad Forest signed and being so late in the window he didn't though mention Reguillon coming in at Athletic

Gil was also mentioned in the early match with reference to Tottenham finding a replacement before he leaves so nothing earth shattering in either case - Carasco did come on last night
