no it wouldn't be ok, Berba is what you need upfront with anyone, we could have a better player alongside him though, although "God" seems irreplacable to most spurs fans, we could do better..

lol ok McCarthy was a bad suggestion I just thought of an ok striker off the top of my head. Change him to Villa then and it'd def be worth it.

Really!

Firstly villa alone will cost a similar amount of money to Berbatov, a little less maybe but certainly not much so how would the Berba money then fund the other players that you were on about?

Secondly Villa is about the same size as Defoe and as we all know Defoe & keane couldn't really play together as they couldn't hold the ball up well enough and didn't offer enough physical presence. Villa & keane wouldn't be a natural partnership.

If we were to sugn Villa it would be to play with Berba & not to replace him.

But its intersting from your comment that you believe we will only need an ok striker to replace a world class one.

I'd much prefer him to go to a club in Spain or Italy than Man Utd! you can tell he's getting increasingly pissed off

yes we replace him with an ok stricker (or move bent up the pecking order) to buy people we need, like a DM or a LW!!

Question: Would it be ok if Berbatov left?

Answer: Yes.

That's the quick answer. No one player is bigger than the club, and certainly not Berbatov.

I love the guy to death, but I hate the troubles that come with keeping him. Sometimes I think we'd be better off as a team without him. Don't ask me why, because I can't back it up. It's just one of those feelings. I think it'll be fairly happy if we sell him to a non-PL club in the Summer.

It wouldn't be ok, but if he must go then it has to be to a foreign club.

We will be starting again from scratch if he goes.

Impossible to keep improving when your best players leave each season.

We replaced Carrick with Zoko and he cant tie his laces.

Not sure If there is anyone out there that could replace what Berbs gives us

So NO it wouldn't be OK but life goes on and so will Tottenham

Berbatov would be extremely difficult to replace. It would take a lot of dough and then we'd have to convince a comparable player (very few) to come to Spurs. He does so much more than score goals - we'd be screwed.

No player is bigger than the club, but Berbatov would be very difficult to replace. He is an intelligent player who can create, score and hold up the ball. We would need to replace those attributes or we would go backwards as a club. Not sure who there is who is as well rounded as Berbatov, but additions to the midfield in the summer will help.

I would accept £30million from a club abroad, but would hate it if Man United got their claws into him. Would absolutely hate it if he were to play against us.

Devil's Advocate here...

Berby is without doubt our jewel in the crown insofar as player talent is concerned.

However, like all geniuses he can sometimes decide the game is beneath him. Like the first half of this season and occasions such as today when his teammates are not on his wavelength.

Soooo...

When he goes at the end of this season for a huge some of money, maybe Ramos can work with the collective rather than the individuals. The team ethic comes through - players work for each other and don't hide. Like Everton.

Summary - Berbatov is way above our present squad levels of play. Let him move to his Champions League Club and let Spurs get on with evolving to the levels that a strong team ethic will take us. Genius is an enigma.

i think the defence is very good at the moment , we need quality creative midfielders who can deliver real good balls for Berba and Keano , and Berba will stay because we will win lot more games

the end product of our miedfield is awful

We should keep him at any cost! Anyone with a brain can see that when he isnt playing we look half the team.

Basically all our attacking play goes through Berba at some point, to lose him would be disastrous. I can categorically say that any replacement will not be in his class either. We wont see another player of his class at the lane for some time imo

If need be the club should put a contract out on his twat of an agent! Assassination stylee lol
