Would you as a Spurs fan be ok if Berbatov left BUT to a non-english club and for a large fee?

Personally I don't wan't to see a player of his quality leave and if it's at all possible to keep him for at least 1 more season then we should do all we can, like we did for Carrick until we HAD to sell him when the time was right.

I think Berbatov is so good if he went to any of the top4 that'd raise their game a mini-level and make it harder for us to challenege with them.

If however he really wanted to go, he went to say AC Milan, Real Madrid etc etc AND we got say 25million for him.

I may then Just about accept it, however i'd obviously rather he stayed.

Also, I really trust the current management team to bring in the right quality and with a windfall of 25million or so + our current kitty I feel we'd hopefully be able to improve overall unlike when Carrick left as our team/squad wasn't as good as it is now and we brought in a few under-par players i.e Zokora.

So, what would it take for you to be satisfied if Berbatov left?

Let's not start the Carrick 'chat' again. Did we have to sell him? Opinions are divided

As for Berbatov, I'm resigned to losing him. I think we all need to physically and mentally prepare for him going as otherwise it will be one of the most gutting moments of recent times. It's then just a lovely surprise if he stays.

I don't think, as ever, money's an issue with us. I don't think a £25m will affect our summer spending at all. If Ramos wants them, he'll be allowed to buy them, it would have been in his contract. You don't wrangle for that long and not get that written in.

I can see where you're coming from, although I fear many fans will not.

If Berbatov did leave i'd be be happy with £35million.

For that sort of cash we'd be able to bring in a £20million replacement, and a £15million midfielder. Then we'd be able to spend our original transfer kitty on strengthening the squad.

Berbatov, as they say, is destined to leave. I will not harbour any ill-will towards him, no matter where he goes, and will applaud when his name is called up if we are playing the opposition who acquired him. It will not be okay, however, as we need him. He's done nothing but serve the club since his arrival, and the distance in class between him and our other players is, at times, quite noticable. If he stays, it would be to remain as a big fish in a small pond, club "talisman", and hope that Ramos will have luck on his side as well as continue with his tactical nous.

How do you prepare for him leaving physically?

Lots of causal sex to ease the pain? :)

Sorry, was trying to tell a story

Something along the lines of: "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down."

With some sheepishness mixed in there for good measure

''We know he's a great player and we all want him to stay," Ramos told the Sunday Telegraph. "Whether he does is something that will be looked at the end of the season. If nothing untoward happens, we think he will be staying."

Is it ever all right if your best player in the prime of his career leaves?

NO, but if we are honest with ourselves he is too good for us at the moment. Will he have the patients for the rest of the team to reach his level..... I doubt it. I love the guy as much as the next man and gotta say he is probably the best ALLROUND striker I have ever seen with my own eyes but the fact is UEFA cup footy will I feel be not be good enough for his next season. Lets enjoy the magician at work for the next 10 games as it may well be our last opps to see him in the lillywhite shirt.

Viva Berbatov!!!

Losing Berbatov will have more of an impact than just losing him.

If i was a very very good player with ambition and Spurs wanted to sign me the very first question I would ask is "Is Berbatov staying?"

the answer to that question would have a huge influence over my decision on whether or not to join Spurs.

I agree fully with what you are saying but his bastard of an agent has been whoring him around to other clubs and have no doubt that he will again this summer.

Ultimately no one man is bigger than the club. we dont wany to get to a situation where one player is so big that the others are in complete awe of him and afraid to express themselves i.e. **** Henry at Woolwich in the last few years before he left.
