People moan about these companies but they won't half start moaning when they are gone.

High interest is a neccessity. Whoin their right mind would want to lend say £200 to get £2.16 profit back a month later? How is that going to pay the firm's wages, advertising and cover defaults? And who is going to do that with people with a poor credit/repayment history? I'd want to charge at least £20+ to make it worth my while which is going to skew the APR, something it was never designed to represent accurately anyway.

I totally disagree with this. There is a huge problem with payday loans companies. If you want apply this argument than the argument should be that they should charge a flat fee, rather than an extortionate APR, which will continue to rise and cause people issues if they fail to pay it for what ever reason. Even a large late fee is preferential to the extortionately high APR that leads to dangerous financial spirals. This is all before we come to the fact that these companies give loans to pretty much anyone without checks. The whole business is very shady.

You've got to admire Mike Ashley's commitment (at such personal financial expense) to maintain Newcastle's position as a joke club.

How bad must Pardew's list of potential transfers be in order for the board to decide to put Joe Kinnear in charge of player recruitment.

Yep, sounds like Ashley doesnt fully trust in Pardew, or is trying to force him out, be alot cheaper if Pardew quits rather than pay off his 8 year contract LOL

If I was Pardew I think I would quit. Fair enough getting in an experienced, proven person such as Baldini, Begiristain, Arnesen etc. But Joe Kinnear? :ROFLMAO:

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

on the BBC made me chuckle about kinnear

"From there we got relegated. People were trying to implicate me when the club went down. That was a load of rubbish. I've never been a manager of a club that's been relegated [Luton were relegated while he was in charge in 2001]."

I've said it before.

It's a bloody mystery how Ashley's made his money.

It's nothing but irresponsible lending, praying on those who have absolute no capacity to pay back those rates of interest. They have grown bigger recently... why is that? wage freezes? people being out of work? people getting less hours etc?

They're absolute scum, worse than the banks.

No surprise Newcastle are buddying up with Wonga, they did the same with Northern Rock, another irresponsible lender.

I get the distinct impression that's exactly what Ashley wants. Reading between the lines, he doesn't want to pay up Pardew's huge contract so he's employed someone (laughable) above him to force him out.

The interview Kinnear did on SSN was shocking - saying he's in charge of deciding where the squad needs strengthening, signing players & getting rid of the dross. Also he's not even met Pardew yet and it wouldn't surprise me if he was unaware this was going to happen. He was mouthing off on SSN before it was announced by the club! Cynically you wonder whether Ashley planned that also.
I'd be surprised if Pardew hangs around but then again, with a massive contract in his favour I'd sit tight!!

Is Kinnear simply a cog in the wheel to get Pardieu to leave maybe? He's on a long deal ain't he? would be costly to sack him.

100% this....it's an obvious tactic to take power away from Pardew.

Newcastle still haven't commented. How funny would it be if Kinnear made the whole thing up and it turns out he's gone proper mental and just wanted to get on Sky Sports News for a day.

The Wonga/Cisse thing has taken a new twist. Apparently there is a photo of Cisse at a blackjack table. If true then his religious beliefs obviously aren't that strong.

no they probably are, we keep getting told that islam is open to individual interpretation though and he probably fancied a gamble one evening. it suited him to play the religion card as he thought he might get out of dodge quicker.
No different to Henry VIII creating his own church so he could smash everything in sight....
