Most likely outcome is Poch's resignation

We have just been linked with a move for Genoa's 23 year old polish striker Krzysztof Piatek. Been very impressed with him and his style of play, he's already scored 13 goals in 8 games this season. He is currently Europe's leading goalscorer I believe. He has the talent to go to the very top and this is no doubt our only chance to buy him. Although he has also been linked with other top clubs.

And here is a squawka report for those interested.

I am the LAST in line when it comes to wheeling out the ''He wouldn't come to sit on the bench behind Kane," line... but in this instance, he wouldn't come to sit on the bench behind Kane. He'll go to a top club to be number one.

We never get those players anyway. End up linked to them for ages and they always end up at clubs like Lyon, Red Bull or Dortmund, if not one of the really big clubs

There's just no common sense applied to any up and coming No 9 linked with us actually coming here. He and his agent would have to be incredibly dumb to plump for us, and that's if we are looking for one. Maybe some promising kid from a French youth academy, or something like that. But this? No way.

Congratulations on being older than me and getting to watch more football. Doesn't mean your opinions are correct. I've been watching for over a decade thank ya very much.

Not once have I ever said I demand perfection from our backup striker. But I do expect to be able to score a goal more than once every 8 games from open play. You just basically said he wasn't good enough so I don't understand what you're arguing? Are we counting non-losses as a striker statistic now? We only lost 3 games in the whole league, so great for him, Sissoko, Nkoudou, etc.

I also don't understand the HG stuff? I've stated all along we are fine with HG as soon as we move on some of the players we need to. You can also just not register them like we've done with Vinny... but alas Levy wouldn't do that with 4 or so players.

We will only be ok with HG when we move those players on, and replace 2 or 3 with HG. No good selling them and buying a CM from Gent that might not even get on the bench.

I never once said he wasn’t good enough, I said he STRUGGLED. He only started 7 out of 38 games, and that wasn’t 7 straight he might of had 2 games here a game there. Players need to play regular, he obviously never worked as hard as he should of in training, and a very good chance other difficulties played there part, but because he never scored every single game in those 7 games doesn’t make him crap. Any professional sportsman that doesn’t ply his trade competitively regular will struggle when only playing occasionally. Most of his substitutes visits where less than 8 minutes.

Edit: I don’t know how to find the actual post, but during one of our discussions during the transfer window, I’m sure you admitted to not being a football fan for that many years

but Mane joined Liverpool early and there must of been interest if he visited the training ground. so I doubt it was Sissoko instead of, unless Levy just didn't ever want to see Sissoko play against us again, as those where always his best performances

We actually looked at Mane a couple of summers before when he was still in Austria and Southampton wanted Townsend but they then signed Mane instead. So it was then we actually fucked it up.

Tottenham transfer news: Sadio Mane lined up as Tim Sherwood's first big-money buy - Mirror Online

Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood wants 21-year-old Senegal sensation Sadio Mane to be one of his first big-money buys.

Sherwood has twice sent new chief scout Ian Broomfield to watch Red Bull Salzburgs £10million-rated left-winger in action.

A star of the Austrian clubs successful season, Mane (left) fits the bill at Spurs where Sherwood wants a left-sided attacker with pace.

Salzburg will sell at the right price and are heading for an auction as Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle are all tracking him too.

However, Sherwood hoping for the nod to buy from supremo Daniel Levy heads the hunt.

Manes advisors know he would have a better chance of starting regularly at White Hart Lane than City and Chelsea where he would be in a queue for a game.

After reading that and the fact that he joined Southampton just after Poch left he decided to choose Liverpool because he didn’t want to piss Southampton fans off more by joining 1, a premier team they hate, and 2, would hate him for playing for a manager they hated, and didn’t want to be hated even more:ROFLMAO:

Would of loved to see him play for us, but his 1st season showed that not only did he have talent and speed, but was a diving cheat and also a little clumsy (think he had 2 red cards 1st season)

I used to agree with you, but seeing how Kane has been adapting his game to drop deeper, I don't see why we shouldn't start thinking about the idea of playing two up top. Not in every game, but from time to time. Just having Kane as a striker doesn't work. We need another viable option. I used to like the idea of using a wing forward, or a playmaker as a striker but I'm not sure who we could buy who could do that to an adequate degree, I imagine it's why we wanted Martial. I also think Kane having a little competition wouldn't hurt. Also the teams looking at the kid, PSG, Barca, Utd etc all have superstar strikers so he won't get much game time which ever club he goes to. Personally I think we really need another forward who we can realistically give game time to and not just for 5 mins at the end of games when we want to rest Kane. It would give Poch more options on how we set up and would make us more unpredictable in attack. It works for City who have Aguero and Jesus.

Non HG players is obviously under the caveat that we move Sissoko, Nkoudo, Llorente someone like that. ITK has said players should be easier to move on loans in January. I'm well aware of the HG issues but once we move deadwood we're fine. Starting to think about including Wanyama in that group we need to move on from.

I have no agenda against Janssen, I just called you out for saying he was a big time contributor. He wasn't lighting the world on fire in Turkery either..

I've been watching every Spurs game since the 2012 season, but I grew up watching the premier league review shows, whatever games I could get my hands on.

If we dont move the deadwood in January then we will have another summer window like this year. Some have got to go.

Lucky signing - loan with option to buy. Nobody thought he would be this good.

A bit like a more extreme version of DIER.
They snagged him after only one year at a professional level. Looking back at clips he clearly showed some talent while at Amiens. Lyon clearly have an eye for guys like this so I don't know if we can call it lucky. To play for only one year at a small French club and get a move after one year for 10 mil (2mil loan fee + 8 mil transfer fee) you clearly showed something. I'm not killing the team for missing out on everyone of these guys but how do we find Nkoudou/Njie but miss out on a guy like this. Are we only watching Marseille, Lyon, PSG & Monaco in France? Only reason I bring all this up was that we supposedly have some "French expert". My original response was sarcastic as of course you can't discover everyone of these guys.

If we're still going to be penny pinching in the transfer market I would just like to make more risks on guys like Foyth, Arp, Berge, etc. Idk just disappointed with our recruitment over the past several years and hoping something will change.

Except King didn’t want to come and be kane’s Back up. It’s the reason it didn’t go through. The player or agent has said as much I think.

to be honest we are going to have problems signing anyone that's going to sit on the bench because of Kane

We won't get, and we don't need a backup to Kane. When he's out we simply switch our system to a fluid front 3 with any of Son/Lamela/Lucas/Dele.

I'd definitely take Shaw in Jan, although United won't sell.

Wonder what the chances are he doesn't extend his contract with United. Would love to sign him on a free and have him replace Davies.

I think moura and lamela emergence has definitely negated the need for another AM/winger/striker I just don’t see how we’d fit them all in. You could end up with lamela moura dele all on bench. I’m definitely veering now towards a young upcoming striker to replace llorente.
