Win fourth or the Europa League?

I was wondering right now if you had the choice between fourth spot in the league and winning the Europa?

I know to some this might seem a no brainer as CL football is a huge thing, but it has been a while since we won anything. So if you had the choice right now what would it be?

Part of me really wants us to win a cup, the last time was the League Cup which was an amazing day. It was meant to be the start of something, but Ramos didn't really work out. Winning a cup does bring in fans from other countries and it would me Europa League football next year, which might be a good or bad thing.

Fourth spot would mean more money and you would hopefully bring in better players, which would be amazing. However we might end up being knocked at of the Qualifying round which wouldn't help the team at all. I am sure some people might see this a a really stupid question, but really think about it. Win the Europa or 4th spot?

This season, 4th.

Next season where you get a CL place for winning the Europa, then I'd take winning that.

Are they going to do that then, if so it might make it a far bigger deal to be in it.

4th.

All the reasons have been argued before.

People won't change their opinions.

This thread gets done every March.

The only reason i want us to qualify for the CL is to retain Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris. Much like last season with Bale, and the season before with Modric. The CL has ruined league football, its not right that players & fans celebrate finishing 4th in the table ahead of winning silverware. Frankly, if it wasnt so important, the CL and 4th spot could choke on a dick for all i care.

I think if we finished 5th but won the EL and the players knew LVG was coming in, everyone would hang around. So i'd take the EL if it was offered to me.

Champions League every time- even if we got knocked out in the group stage, it would still be more exciting than the Europa league.

I think it's better to sell someone like JV (not Hugo...) when we have CL because then we can sign someone of equal quality

Europa league you win a trophy, 4th just gets you another match if you win you go into another competiton if you lose your done. No trophy to show for it. What was there to show last time we were 4th? Nothing. There should be no glory in coming 4th only 1st

Yep, finishing 4th just means you are the 3rd of the losers.

And it may not, look at the arse how many trophys have they won recently?
Between their new stadium and CL revenues they are a powerhouse of a club. They could go out any time they wish and buy anyone they want. The fact they don't is another matter altogether.
It's where we have to be.
